FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR HUNUA (1917) SPECIAL RATING AREA LOAN OF £1,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500), authorized to be raised by the Franklin County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the following purposes:—

Reforming and metalling on Papakura to Hunua Road (Hunua Gorge and Williamson’s Hill) .. £700
Legalization and formation of road to Pollocks and others .. 100
Reforming and metalling Heald’s Road.. 50
Reforming and metalling Key Street to Kelly’s Bridge Road .. 50
Reforming and metalling Creamery Road .. 75
Reforming and metalling Stewart and Cowan’s Road .. 75
Reforming and metalling Ponga Road .. 50
Reforming and metalling Hunua to Paparimu Road .. 250
Forming Happy Valley Road .. 100

the said Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hunua (1917) Special Rating Area in Franklin County, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by the Manukau County, as described on page 1989 of the New Zealand Gazette of 1915, from the southernmost corner of Section No. 171, Hunua Parish, to a point on the left bank of the Wairoa River opposite the north-eastern corner of Section No. 2, Otai Parish; thence across the said Wairoa River to the aforesaid corner; thence again towards the north generally by Sections 86, 85, and 88 of Otai Parish to the public road at the south-eastern corner of said Section 88; thence towards the east generally by the public road forming the eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 89, 90, 91, 92, and 93 to the south-eastern corner of said Section 93; thence across the said public road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 65A, Otai Parish; thence towards the north-west, north, and east generally by the said Section No. 65A and the public road forming the eastern boundary-line of Sections Nos. 72, 71, 69, and 81A, and by the western boundary of Section 108, Otai Parish, to the Mercer Riding boundary at the south-western corner of said Section 108; thence towards the east, south, and west generally by the Mercer and Drury Ridings of Franklin County as described on page 3184 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1917, to the place of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Franklin County Council held on Thursday, the seventh day of February, 1918.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between ALFRED JAMES SHEAT and ALBERT JAMES SHEAT, carrying on business as Farmers at “Willowburn,” Clinton, under the style of “A. J. Sheat and Co.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

All debts owing to the firm must be paid to Mr. Alfred James Sheat, “Willowburn,” Clinton, before the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen; and all persons to whom any debts are owing by the firm must render statements of their accounts to Mr. Alfred James Sheat, “Willowburn,” Clinton, before the said first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore carried on under the style of “Maden Bros.,” at Rockville, in the business of General Storekeepers, was this day dissolved by mutual consent.

All moneys owing to the late firm will be payable to ARTHUR MADEN, and all moneys owing by the said firm will be paid by the said Arthur Maden.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the office of the company, 19 Shortland Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 29th day of April, 1918, the following resolutions were carried unanimously as special resolutions, and were confirmed as such at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at the office of the company, 19 Shortland Street, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 15th day of May, 1918, viz.:—

(1.) That it is expedient to effect an amalgamation of this company with and to transfer its undertaking and assets to a new company proposed to be incorporated under the name of “Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement (Limited),” and that with a view thereto this company be wound up voluntarily; and that ARTHUR BEN ROBERTON and JAMES BUCHANAN MACFARLANE, of Auckland, be and they are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.

(2.) That the Liquidators be and they are hereby authorized to consent to the registration of such new company, with Memorandum and Articles of Association which have been already prepared with the privity and approval of the Directors of this company.

(3.) That the draft agreement expressed to be made between this company and the Liquidators of this company, of the one part, and Oliver Nicholson, of Auckland, Solicitor (as trustee for and on behalf of such new company), of the other part, be and the same is hereby approved; and that the Liquidators be and they are hereby authorized, pursuant to section 259 of the Companies Act, 1908, to enter into an
