NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the under-mentioned lands having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Otago Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Education Reserves in Otago Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 19th day of June, 1918, at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN OF OAMARU.

SECTION 16, Block XXXV: Area, 1 rood; upset annual rental, £5.

Weighed with £750, valuation for improvements consisting of dwellinghouse and outbuildings, concrete wall, asphalt paths, garden, and fencing.

Very good residential section fronting Ure Street, and within easy distance of the post-office. Possession will be given on 27th June, 1918.

Section 6, Block LXIX: Area, 1 rood; upset annual rental, 5s.

A steep and rather inaccessible section, with a frontage to Yare Street. Possession will be given on day of sale.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. The term of each lease will be twenty-one years from 1st July, 1918.

  2. A half-year’s rent at the rate offered, and rent for the broken period between the date of possession and 30th June, 1918, lease, registration, and stamp fees, and valuation for improvements, to be paid on the fall of the hammer.

  3. At the end of term lease to be offered by auction for further term of twenty-one years at rent to be fixed by arbitration, the incoming lessee to pay the value of the improvements, which is to be handed over to the outgoing lessee.

  4. No assignment or sublease without consent.

  5. Interest at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be paid on rent in arrear.

  6. Consent of the Land Board to be obtained before subletting, erecting any buildings, or effecting other improvements.

  7. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.

Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 6th May, 1918.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 1st July, 1918.

The lands may be selected for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years, and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, 3rd July, 1918, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Ashburton County.—South Rakaia and Wakanui Survey Districts.—Buckley Settlement.

SECTION 1s: Area, 532 acres 2 roods 25 perches; capital value, £4,270; half-yearly rent, £96 1s. 6d.

Section 2s: Area, 520 acres 2 roods 39 perches; capital value, £4,140; half-yearly rent, £93 3s.

Section 3s: Area, 599 acres 2 roods 16 perches; capital value, £4,800; half-yearly rent, £108.

This settlement is situated about twelve miles from Chertsey Railway-station by good road. All flat pastoral or light agricultural land, more or less stony, at present in grass and stubble; well watered by water-races, and well sheltered by various plantations. Altitude, 100 ft.

Section 1s is weighted with £300, valuation for improvements consisting of house, outbuildings, cow-shed, yards, dip, stable, wool-shed, loose-boxes, &c., which are to be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £15 3s.

The right is reserved to remove for sale a moveable hut at present on this section, and also all sawn timber thereon.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction, for a term of fourteen years, at this office, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, the 19th day of June, 1918, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—MAKAREAO SETTLEMENT.

SECTION 16, Block IV: Area, 21 acres 2 roods 1 perch; upset annual rental, £5 7s. 6d.

Weighed with £16 6s. 6d., valuation for fencing.

Situated about a mile from Dunback Railway-station.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. The lease will be for a term of fourteen years from the day of sale.

  2. One year’s rent at the rate offered, £1 1s. lease fee, and the amount of valuation for fencing to be paid on fall of the hammer.

  3. Rental to be paid yearly in advance.

  4. Possession to be given on day of sale.

  5. No assignment or sublease without consent.

  6. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.
