the last-mentioned subdivision to its northernmost corner; thence by the south-eastern boundary of Ensor’s Road as existing before the purchase of Woolston Footpaths to Christ-church-Lyttelton Railway Reserve; thence along the north-eastern side of that reserve to the Heathcote River, and along the left bank of that river to a point opposite the water-course from Hill’s Road near Heathcote Street; thence across the Heathcote River and along the said watercourse to Hill’s Road, along the northern side of Hill’s Road to and along the eastern side of St. Martin’s Road to a point opposite the northern side of Burnbrae Street; thence to and along the northern side of that stream to the Tennyson Street Bridge; thence across the Heathcote River and along its left bank to Colombo Street; thence along the eastern side of Colombo Street to Strickland Street, along the north-eastern side of Strickland Street, the northern side of South Crescent Road, the northern side of Jerrold Street, and the north-eastern side of Bright’s Road to Lincoln Road; thence along the south-eastern side of Lincoln Road and the western side of Antigua Street to and across the River Avon; thence along the western side of Rolleston Avenue and the left bank of the River Avon to Rossall Street; thence along the north-eastern side of Rossall Street to the road forming part of the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 133, along the north-western side of that road to the Wairarapa Stream, and along the left bank of that stream to Rural Section 242; and thence along the north-eastern boundary of that section to its northernmost corner, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded towards the north generally by Waimairi County as described in the First Schedule to the Waimairi County Act, 1909, from the City of Christchurch to the Borough of New Brighton; thence towards the east generally by the Borough of New Brighton to the estuary of the Heathcote and Avon Rivers; thence towards the south-east by the said estuary to the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Woolston; and thence towards the west generally by the Borough of Woolston and the City of Christchurch to the place of commencement.
Also all that area bounded towards the north generally by the Borough of Spreydon, the City of Christchurch, and the Borough of Woolston from the southernmost corner of the Borough of Spreydon to the estuary of the Heathcote River; thence across that river and by the said estuary to the Borough of Sumner; towards the east by the Borough of Sumner to the northern boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton; towards the south generally by the Borough of Lyttelton to its north-western corner; thence by the summit of the Port Hills to the southernmost corner of Rural Section 452; thence towards the south-west and west by the road known as Worsley’s Track, running along the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 338, through Rural Sections 493 and 10210, along the south-western boundaries of Rural Sections 31363, 31362, 2063, and the west and north-west boundaries of Rural Section 1325, and through Rural Section 383 to the north-eastern corner thereof, and by a right line to the middle of the Heathcote River at the southernmost corner of the Borough of Spreydon, the place of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Drainage District, Norfolk Downs, County of Piako.

Wellington, 18th April, 1918.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a drainage district under Part II of the said Act, by name the Drainage District of Norfolk Downs. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said drainage district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED DRAINAGE DISTRICT OF NORFOLK DOWNS.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being the Mangaotupua Block, and situated in Block IX, Maunga-
kawa Survey District, commencing at the intersection of the south-western boundary of Section 8, Kuranui Block, and the Waitakaruru Stream, and bounded towards the north-east by the south-western boundaries of Section 8 aforesaid and Section 7, Kuranui Block, to the north-western boundary of Tahuroa Block numbered 1081; thence towards the south-east and south-west generally by Tahuroa Block and by Tahuroa No. 3 and No. 4 to the western boundary of the Piako County; thence again towards the south-west by the last-mentioned county boundary to the centre of the Waitakaruru Stream; and towards the north-west generally by that stream to the place of commencement.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks XII, XV, and XVI, Porangahau Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks XII, XV, and XVI, Porangahau Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Castlepoint, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42778, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
