UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Queenstown.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, John Hole Davis, of Queenstown, Dairy - farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 9.30 a.m., 3rd April, 1918.
Date and number of miner’s right: 3rd April, 1918; No. 113797.
Address for service: Queenstown.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: In Bushy or Brewery Creek, Queenstown, running through Section 66, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, being applicant’s freehold, and terminating in said creek fifteen chains from intake.
Length and intended course of race: Twenty chains; south to north.
Points of intake: One, at point in creek nine chains from western boundary of Section 66.
Estimated time and cost of construction: One day; £3.
Mean depth and breadth: 1ft. by 2ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: One head.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Domestic purposes and irrigation.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Ohinemuri County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of the principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Ohinemuri County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of forming and metalling the following roads in the Elstow Special Rating Area—viz., the road from Mangaiti Bridge to Brinkley’s Road, Brinkley’s Road from Mangaiti Creamery to Bowler’s Road, Stanley’s Road, Bowler’s Road, Mellin’s Road to Waitoa Bridge, Ngutumunga Road to Otway’s Road, Strange’s Road, Otway’s Road, Eastport Road, Mellin’s Road from the Waitoa Stream to the county boundary, and Wiseman Road from Eastport Road to the Ohine Stream—the said Ohinemuri County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the capital value of all the rateable property in the Elstow Special Rating Area, comprising the following sections: Parts 13/14, part 14, Sec. 15, Sec. 16, Sec. 17, Sec. 18, Secs. 19/20, Secs. 21/22, part 23, of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision; Secs. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6A, 6B, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, of the Otway Settlement; Secs. 5 and 6, Thames Borough Endowment; Secs. 8, 9, 10, Thames Borough Endowment; Secs. 32, 33, 34, 35, of the Otway Settlement; part 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 3 and 4 of 8, of Block XII, 1 and 2 north part 9, Block XII, Secs. 13, 14A, 14B, 15, Block XII, all of Waitoa Survey District; Secs. 1, 1A, 2, 3, part 4, west part 12, Block IX, Aroha; Secs. 1, 2 3, 4, 5, Hoururangi, Block XII, Waitoa; part of Koromatua No. 1, part Ngutumunga, Omotai No. 1 east 1, west 1, Ohikopi, part 5, Block VIII, Waitoa; Bridge Reserve, Waitoa Survey District; and bounded as follows:—
Commencing at the junction of the Ohine Stream with the Piako and Ohinemuri County boundary; thence along the right bank of the Ohine Stream in north-westerly direction to its junction with the Waitoa River; thence across that river and along its right bank to a point on the said river due south of the western corner of Section 1 of the Otway Settlement; thence by a line due north to the said corner; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-west boundary of the Otway Estate to the north-east corner of Section 7 of the Otway Estate; thence in a south-westerly direction along part of the eastern boundary of the said Section 7 to a point at the junction of the said line with the southern boundary of Te Tautiti 2A 2 Block; thence in a south-easterly direction along the southern boundary of the said Te Tautiti 2A 2 Block to its south-east corner; thence in a north and a north-easterly direction along part of the east boundary of the said Te Tautiti 2A 2 Block and the south-east boundary of the said Section 7 to its easternmost corner; thence in a south-easterly direction along the eastern boundary of Sections 6 and 5 to the north boundary of the Ahikopi Road in a north-easterly direction to its junction with the west boundary of Section 3, Block VIII, Waitoa Survey District; thence in a southerly and north-easterly direction along the western and part of the south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 3 to the most westerly corner of the said Section 4 of the same block; thence by the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 4 in a south-eastern and a north-eastern direction to the left bank of the Waihou River; thence along the left bank of the Waihou River in a generally south-easterly direction to the boundary of the Piako and Ohinemuri Counties; thence in a westerly direction along the said county boundary to its junction with the eastern boundary of the southern portion of Section 8, Block XII, Waitoa Survey District; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said section to the south-east corner of the northern portion of the said Section 8; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said northern portion of Section 8 to its south-western corner at its junction with the eastern boundary of Section part 7 of the said Block XII; thence in a northerly direction to the north-east corner of the said Section 7; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of the said Section part 7 to its junction with the Ngutumungu Road; thence in a southerly direction along the east side of the Ngutumungu Road to its intersection with the boundary of the Piako and Ohinemuri counties; thence to the point of commencement.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off;
