In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of the WANGANUI CO-OPERATIVE COLD STORAGE AND BACON COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company, subject to the supervision of the Supreme Court, was, on the 15th day of March, 1918, presented to His Honour the Chief Justice by Albert Davey, of Jerusalem, on the Wanganui River, Farmer, a creditor of the said company, and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the 1st day of May, 1918, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, at Wellington; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the supervision of the said Court should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NEW BRIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION BY WAY OF SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the New Brighton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £150, authorized to be raised by the New Brighton Borough Council for road-making, the New Brighton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two and a half (2½) pence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable properties included in the Jubilee Avenue Loan Area, such area being in Block 8 of the Christchurch Survey District, described as follows:—
Commencing at a point being the north-western corner of Lot 7 as shown on deposit plan 1602; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Pacific Street to the north-western boundary of Lot 54 as shown on the sale plan of the Raeburn Subdivision; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said lot to Lot 19, deposit plan 3254; thence easterly to the eastern boundary of the said lot; thence southerly to the southern boundary of Lot 21, as shown on the same plan; thence westerly to Marriotts Road; thence northerly to the commencing-point.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years (36½), or until the loan is fully paid off.

Commencing at a point on the northern boundary of Bowhill Road, being the northern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 3541; thence northerly to the southern boundary of Lot 4; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Lots 4, 3, 2, and 1 of the same plan, and in a direct line across Osborne Terrace to the southern boundary of Lot 7; thence easterly and northerly across Swann Street, and along the western boundaries of Lots 25, 24, and part 23, D.P. 566, to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 3255; thence westerly to the Government Road; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said road to a point of 2¾ chains north of Fleming Street; thence easterly to the western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 566; thence northerly to the southern boundary of
