Captain Robert Nicoll Morpeth is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 15th December, 1917.

8TH (SOUTHLAND) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Charles Edward Butcher, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 10th January, 1918, and is absorbed into the establishment, with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Major, as from 27th November, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).
17TH (RUAHINE) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant-Colonel Jabez Alfred Cowles, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 15th December, 1917, and is absorbed into the establishment, with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Major, as from 10th June, 1914 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 67, of the 16th July, 1914).
NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE (EARL OF LIVERPOOL'S OWN), TERRITORIAL.
2nd Lieutenant Edward Hulbert, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 21st January, 1918, and is absorbed, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 29th April, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).
Lieutenant John Brown, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 15th January, 1918, and is absorbed, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 1st March, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).
Captain George Brown Macmorran, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 12th January, 1918, and is absorbed, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 1st October, 1915 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 115, of the 7th October, 1915).

With reference to the notification published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 161, of 25th October, 1917, relating to Captain (temp. Major) Henry William Martindale Kendall, M.R.C.S., Eng., for the words “and granted the pay of Lieutenant-Colonel at Expeditionary Force rates whilst so
acting” read “and is granted the temporary rank and pay of Lieutenant-Colonel at Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting.”
The following is substituted for the notice which appeared in the New Zealand Gazette No. 170, of 22nd November, 1917:
Captain (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Henry William Martindale Kendall, M.R.C.S., Eng., N.Z. Medical Corps, relinquishes hi, appointment as a member of a Special District Medical Board and the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 3rd November, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND DENTAL CORPS.
The undermentioned Lieutenants were posted for duty with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force in the rank of Captain, with seniority as from the 12th February, 1917:—

Lieutenant Robert Le Clerc Latter, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 15th January, 1918, and is absorbed, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 22nd July, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of the 20th July, 1916).
2nd Lieutenant Frank Ezekiel McKenzie, M.C., N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 21st January, 1918, and is absorbed, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 26th August, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 150, of the 4th October, 1917).
Lieutenant William Edward Grant, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 19th January, 1918, and is absorbed, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 11th November, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 126, of the 9th November, 1916).
