on the application of any Borough Council, declare the district within the jurisdiction of such Borough Council to be a fire district under the said Act: And whereas an application has been made by the Dargaville Borough Council in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, and it appears expedient to grant the said application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the Borough of Dargaville to be a fire district under the said Act.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Lands other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of January, 1918.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, prohibiting all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council made the twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and gazetted the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, prohibiting all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.
