chains; thence in a southerly direction across the said Section 5 to the boundary of Section 17, Richmond Downs Sub-division, then by the north-western boundary of Section 17 to its most south-westerly corner, then by the southern boundary of the said Section 17 in a south-easterly direction to the Mangapapa River, then following the course of this river in a southerly direction to the point of commencement.
Such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I certify that the above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Piako County Council held on the 18th day of March, 1918.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whakatane Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000), authorized to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of street-improvement work, repairs of flood damage, and hire or purchase of necessary plant and machinery, the said Whakatane Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
