WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON 21ST FEBRUARY, 1918, AT 11 A.M.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of fifty-five pounds (£55), being an extra 10 per cent. on the original Otewa Loan, authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing proposals in connection with the expenditure of the original loan—viz., forming and metalling and culverting the Otewa Road, and portion of the Mangawhero Road—the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one thirty-second part of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property within the Otewa Special Rating Area, comprising the boundaries of the Otewa Special Rating Area as gazetted in connection with the original loan.

Such rate shall be an annually recurring rate, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waitomo was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Waitomo County Council, in the presence of—

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of shareholders held the 4th day of March, 1918, it was unanimously resolved by the shareholders and the following minute signed in the minute-book:—

MOUNT WELCOME GOLD-MINING COMPANY (LTD.).

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution has been passed in manner directed by the Companies Act, 1908, by the Mount Welcome Gold-mining Company (Limited).

The resolution was passed on the ninth day of January, 1918, and confirmed on the sixth day of February, 1918:—

“ That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908 ; and that JOSEPH BERNARD SHEATH, of Auckland, Company Manager, be and is hereby appointed the Liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

OCCIDENTAL CONSOLIDATED GOLD-MINING COMPANY (NO LIABILITY).

AN extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Occidental Consolidated Gold-mining Company (No Liability) will be held at the company's office, 31 Shortland Street, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 13th day of March, 1918, at 3 p.m., to consider and, if deemed expedient, pass as an extraordinary resolution the following resolution, i.e.:—

“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting of shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily ; and that Mr. E. DOWELL, of Auckland, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

PAPATOETOE ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Papatoetoe Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the Papatoetoe Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, and in pursuance of section 18 thereof, for the purpose of completing the erection of meeting-hall, reading-room, and Board offices in Station Road, Papatoetoe (the said sum being equal to one-tenth of the amount originally authorized by the ratepayers), the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eightieth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Papatoetoe Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of May and the first day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly carried at a properly constituted meeting of the Board held on Monday, 4th March, 1918.
