Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force.
APPOINTMENTS.
Captain (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Thomas Arthur MacGibbon, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Director of Medical Services, Canterbury Military District, and the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 7th February, 1918.
Captain Alexander Wilson Hogg, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed Assistant Director of Medical Services, Canterbury Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 8th February, 1918.
PROMOTIONS, RESIGNATIONS, AND TRANSFERS.
7TH (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Leonard George Mercer, from the 11th Regiment (Taranaki Rifles), to be Lieutenant. Dated 28th February, 1918.
8TH (SOUTHLAND) REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant George Merivale Broughton, from the 12th (Nelson and Marlborough) Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 5th February, 1918.
11TH REGIMENT (TARANAKI RIFLES).
Lieutenant Leonard George Mercer is transferred to the 7th (Wellington West Coast) Regiment. Dated 28th February, 1918.
12TH (NELSON AND MARLBOROUGH) REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant George Merivale Broughton is transferred to the 8th (Southland) Regiment. Dated 5th February, 1918.
16TH (WAIKATO) REGIMENT.
Major John Hector Luxford is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 5th April, 1918, and is absorbed into the Regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Major, as from 26th October, 1917 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 170, of the 22nd November, 1917).
N.Z. RIFLE BRIGADE (EARL OF LIVERPOOL’S OWN), TERRITORIAL.
Captain Ronald Gordon Gallien is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 11th April, 1918, and is absorbed into the Regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 1st October, 1915 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 28, of the 28th February, 1918).
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain James Ayson Marshall, M.B., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 13th March, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority — viz., Captain, as from 2nd September, 1915 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 128, of the 11th November, 1915).
Lieutenant (temp.) Warren Hastings Young to be Captain (temp.). Dated 1st September, 1917.
James Leslie Will, M.B., to be Lieutenant. Dated 4th November, 1917.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend Robert Franklin to be Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class. Dated 24th January, 1918.
The Reverend Joseph Duffy to be Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class. Dated 27th February, 1918.
