Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon him by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Shipping and Seaman Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke clause three of the rules made by the said Order in Council of the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and doth hereby substitute the following clause therefor, viz. :—
“3. Life-jackets previously passed.—Until 1st January, 1919, any life-jacket which has been previously passed by a Marine Department Surveyor as part of the statutory equipment of a vessel may be accepted as part of the statutory equipment of the same vessel so long as it remains in good condition. On and after that date no life-jacket should be passed unless it complies with the conditions stated in paragraph 2.”

Appointing Members of the First and Second Divisions of the Court of Appeal.

WHEREAS by section five of the Judicature Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Court of Appeal shall consist of two Divisions, to be called respectively the First Division and the Second Division of the Court of Appeal; and that each Division shall consist of five Judges of the Supreme Court, to be appointed to that Division by the Governor-General in Council :
And whereas the power conferred by the said Act upon the Governor-General in Council of appointing Judges as members of either Division, or of revoking any such appointment, shall be exercisable on the recommendation of not less than three Judges of the Supreme Court (of whom the Chief Justice shall be one), and not otherwise :
And whereas the Honourable the Chief Justice, the Honourable Mr. Justice Chapman, and the Honourable Mr. Justice Stringer have recommended that the two Divisions of the Court of Appeal shall be constituted as shown hereafter :

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section fourteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying
that part of the Tamaki West Road District in the County of Eden should be excluded from the said road district, and included in the City of Auckland :
And whereas a notice showing the proposed alteration in boundaries of the said borough has been gazetted and publicly notified, and no objections in writing against such alteration have been lodged :
And whereas it is expedient that the said area should be included in the said City of Auckland :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be included in the City of Auckland.
