of Pukete Parish, across the river and by Pukete Parish to the Waipa River, across that river and by its left bank to the northern boundary of Karamu Parish, and by that parish to the western watershed of the Waipa River; thence towards the west by the said watershed to a point due east of Trig. Station 82 (Kokako); thence to that trig. station and a right line to the source of the Karaka Stream, by that stream to its confluence with the Ohautira Stream; thence by a right line running in the direction of Trig. Station 1601 (Ihunui) to the southern boundary of Section 129 near that trig. station, by the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 129 and the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 81 to the parish boundary, and by the western boundary of Pepepe Parish to Section 215 aforesaid, the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the second day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Boundaries of Districts under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908, altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration districts known as the Onehunga and Otahuhu districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:—

ONEHUNGA DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north by the road forming the southern boundary of Allotments 57 and 38 of Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland; towards the west by the road forming the eastern boundaries of Allotments 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, and 33; again towards the north by Allotment 22 of Section 12, Suburbs of Auckland, by Allotments 9 and 10, a road-line, and Allotments 14 and 15 of Section 12 aforesaid; towards the north-east by the Great South Road; towards the south generally by the Manukau Harbour; towards the west by Allotment 14 of Section 13, Suburbs of Auckland, and the road forming the eastern boundaries of Allotments 8A, 8, part of 4, 4A, 5A, and 6 of Section 13 aforesaid, and of Allotments 85, 84, 83, 82, 81, 80, and 79 of Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland.

Also all that area bounded towards the west and north by the Manukau Harbour from the road forming the southern boundary of Section 83, Manurewa Parish, to the mouth of the Ararata Creek; thence along a right line to Trig. Station 1076, and thence along a right line to the seashore at the road forming the southern boundary of Section 83 aforesaid, the place of commencement.

OTAHUHU DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by Allotment 32, Section 12, Suburbs of Auckland, from the Great South Road to the north-western corner of Subdivision 1 of Hamlin’s Grant; thence by the northern boundary of the said Subdivision 1 to the road at its north-eastern corner; thence across that road, and by the road forming the northern boundaries of Subdivisions 9, 10, 11, and 12, Hamlin’s Grant, to the Tamaki River; thence across that river and by its right bank to the sea; thence towards the north-east generally by the sea to the north-eastern corner of the Wairoa Parish; thence towards the south generally by the said Wairoa Parish to Section 68, Maraetai Parish; thence by that section, the road forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 67 and 52, and by Sections 56, 51, and 27, Maraetai Parish, Section 136, Pakuranga Parish, Section 64, Papakura Parish, Sections 96 and 95, Manurewa Parish, and by Papakura Parish
to the Manukau Harbour; thence towards the south-west and west generally by Manukau Harbour to the road forming the southern boundary of Section 83, Manurewa Parish; thence by a right line to Trig. Station 1076, and along a right line thence to the mouth of the Ararata Creek; again by Manukau Harbour to the Great South Road at St. Ann’s Bridge, and thence by the Great South Road to the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the second day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration districts known as the Kawhia, Waiharakeke, Raglan, and Ngaruawahia districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into four registration districts, the names whereof shall be the Kawhia, Waiharakeke, Raglan, and Ngaruawahia districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be conterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names, as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of the Marriage Act, 1908.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the second day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 107, of the twenty-first day of the same month, rules were made regarding life-jackets for ships: And whereas it is desirable to revoke clause three of such rules, and to make a new rule in lieu thereof :
