2. Licenses to kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Wellington, and the Postmasters at Palmers- ton North, Bull's, Foxton, and Marton, on payment of a license fee of 20s., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Acts and these regulations.
3. No licensee shall be allowed to take or kill more than two stags or bucks of not less than six points, and one hind; and, further, the said Chief Postmaster and Postmasters shall not issue more than one license to take or kill deer to the same person.
4. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.
5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Defence Act, 1909.—Regulations as to Imprisonment and Detention.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section four of the Defence Act, 1909, the Governor-General is empowered to make regulations for the discipline of the Defence Forces, and all other regulations which he thinks necessary for effectively carrying that Act into effect:
And whereas it is necessary to make further and better provision as to the mode of execution of sentences of imprisonment or detention passed upon members of the Defence Forces under the said Act and its amendments and the Army Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance of the authority so conferred upon him, doth hereby make the following regulations under the Defence Act, 1909.

Section XVII.—Imprisonment and Detention.

706. EVERY person sentenced in New Zealand by a Court-martial or by a Commanding Officer to any period of detention in accordance with the Army Act shall be detained in pursuance of that sentence either in military custody or in a detention-barrack as may be determined from time to time by a committing authority under these regulations.
