All in the Otago Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43802, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twelfth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Approving the Term of License granted to Messrs. J. J. Craig (Limited) and R. and W. Hellaby (Limited) by the Auckland City Council for a Private Tramway across Quay Street in the City of Auckland.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eleventh day of March, 1918.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by section sixteen of the Tramways Act, 1908, that any local authority may from time to time, on the application of any person in that behalf, grant a license to such person to lay down, construct, and maintain a private tramway on, along, or across any street or road under its control, subject to such terms and conditions as such local authority approves; provided that such tramway shall be used only in connection with and for the purposes of the business of such person, and that such business shall not be the carriage of passengers or goods for hire:

And whereas it is provided by section ten of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, that the license may be for such term not exceeding twenty-one years as the Governor-General in Council approves:

And whereas Messrs. J. J. Craig (Limited) and R. and W. Hellaby (Limited), companies duly incorporated under the Companies Act, 1908, and having their registered offices at Auckland, have made application to the Auckland City Council for a license to permit them jointly to construct, maintain, and use across Quay Street in the City of Auckland a private tramway from the lands leased by the said companies to the New Zealand Government railway-station yard or goods-sheds, shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 42797, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District:

And whereas the said Council has granted such license for a term of ten years from the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen:

And whereas such tramway is to be used by the said companies in connection with and for the purposes of their businesses, and such businesses are not the carriage of passengers or goods for hire:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the aforesaid term.

Confirming Resolutions made by the Westport Harbour Board under the Local Authorities Superannuation Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eleventh day of March, 1918.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Westport Harbour Board has, by a special resolution dated the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, established a superannuation fund under the Local Authorities Superannuation Act, 1908, for the benefit of the permanent employees, now or hereafter in its service, and has also on the same date passed a special resolution agreeing to grant as part of the scheme of such fund to certain of its employees on their retirement an additional annual allowance for the rest of their lives on the conditions contained in the said resolution, as authorized by section two of the Local Authorities Superannuation Amendment Act, 1912: And whereas it is expedient to confirm the said resolutions:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section six of the Local Authorities Superannuation Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby confirm the said resolutions of the Westport Harbour Board dated respectively the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and doth declare that those resolutions shall take effect as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
