of a gravel-pit in Block XIII, Opoiti Survey District,
Wairoa County:

And whereas the Wairoa County Council has laid before
the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map
in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required
by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and autho-
rities vested in me by the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public
Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto
is hereby taken for the purposes of the said gravel-pit as
from the date hereinafter specified, and shall vest in the
Corporation of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants
of the County of Wairoa as from the date hereinafter men-
tioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall
take effect on and after the fourth day of April, one thou-
sand nine hundred and eighteen.

Situated in Block XIII, Opoiti Survey District (Hawke's
Bay R.D.).

In the Hawke's Bay Land District; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43494,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-
Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House at Wellington, this ninth day
of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and eighteen.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block VII,
Christchurch Survey District, Waimairi County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under the Public Works
Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the pur-
poses of a road in Block VII, Christchurch Survey District,
Waimairi County:

And whereas the Waimairi County Council has laid before
the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map,
and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said
Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908,
and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do
also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect
on and after the fourth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and eighteen.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 2 roods 22·4 perches, and being part
Section 292, Block VII, Christchurch Survey District.
Bounded towards the north by other part of said Section 292,
2672·95 links; towards the east by North Road, 24 links;
towards the south by Northcote Road, 2672·7 links; and
towards the west by other part of said section 292, 24 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43797, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in
the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian

poses of a road in Block XII, Waimea Survey District:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law
to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such
land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been
observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908,
and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
the purposes of the said road; and I do also hereby declare
that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the
twenty-third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
eighteen.

Waimea Survey District.

In the Westland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43229
(sheet 3), deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred
and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it
is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation
publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government
road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government roads described in the
Schedule hereto are no longer required for the purposes of
roads:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
