Notice to Imprestees under the Public Revenues Act, 1910.
The Treasury,
Wellington, 28th February, 1918.
EVERY officer holding advances of public money is hereby required to pay to the Public Account, at the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand, the unexpended balance of his account on or before Thursday, the 28th March proximo, and forthwith to transmit to the Treasury at Wellington the bank receipt for such repayment, together with an account of his expenditure to the same date, as required by clause 5 of the Treasury Regulations.
As respects disbursements which officers may require to make immediately after the close of the financial year, requisitions for the amount required are to be made in such time as to enable them to reach Wellington not later than the 20th March, so that the requisite funds may be placed at the disposal of the officer as soon after the 1st April as possible. Imprestees are further notified that the usual telegraphic advice of remittances made by the Treasury on 1st April will not be sent. They will therefore require to ascertain from the bank if their imprest accounts have been replenished.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the regulations for the election of members of the Council of Education, of the 27th February, 1915, I hereby appoint

to be Returning Officer for the purpose of conducting the election of members of the Council; and name the Education Department, Government Buildings, Wellington, as the address at which the business of the election shall be conducted.

British Manufactures.
Customs Department,
Wellington, 26th February, 1918.
IT is notified for the information of importers and the public generally that a list, compiled by the Commercial Intelligence Department of the Board of Trade, London, showing the names of British manufacturers who now produce goods formerly chiefly or largely supplied by Germany, has been received by the New Zealand Government.
A copy of the list is held by His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner, Banks’s Building, No. 11 Grey Street, Wellington, who will be prepared to answer inquiries relating thereto.

Restrictions on Importation and Exportation of Goods to and from the United States.

IT is notified for public information that the Government of the United States has prohibited as from 16th February, 1918, all imports from and exports to all countries.
Particulars as to the procedure necessary to obtain import licenses from the United States authorities will be notified when available.

Education Board of the District of Auckland.—Election of Member to fill Extraordinary Vacancy.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, the Education Amendment Act, 1915 (No. 2), and the regulations thereunder, it is hereby notified that the undernamed person has this day been duly elected a member of the Education Board of the District of Auckland for the West Ward of the rural area, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of William Auld:—
