coloured green.

Amendment of the Regulations under the Stock Act, 1908, for
the Prevention of the Introduction into New Zealand of
Diseases affecting Stock.—Notice No. 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of February, 1918.

IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the fourth day of
October, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventh day of
October, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, regulations
were made under the Stock Act, 1908, for the prevention of
the introduction into New Zealand of diseases affecting
stock :
And whereas by the said regulations the importation into
the Dominion of animal manures is permitted only from
certain countries in the manner prescribed by such regu-
lations :
And whereas it is expedient to amend the aforesaid regula-
tions so as to safeguard animal manure while in transit to
New Zealand from becoming infected with any disease affect-
ing stock :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by the Stock Act, 1908, and of all other
powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations
hereinbefore mentioned to the extent set out in the Schedule
hereto ; and doth hereby declare, that this Order in Council
shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof
in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
CLAUSE 86.—By adding to the clause the following :—
“ And provided further that in the case of any shipment
of animal manure—
“ (1.) From the Commonwealth of Australia, such animal
manure shall be carried only in a clean Australasian
vessel ; and
“ (2.) From India, such animal manure shall be carried
only in a vessel approved by the New Zealand
Inspector of Manure-sterilizing in Calcutta.”
Clause 100.—By adding to the clause the following words :
“ or with any stock within the meaning of the said Act.”
Twenty-sixth Schedule.—By adding after the words
“ unsterilized animal manure ” the words “ or with any stock
within the meaning of the Stock Act, 1908.”

Amending Regulations under the War Funds Act, 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-seventh
day of February, 1918.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the eighth
day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen,
made under the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred
to as “ the said Act ”), and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and sixteen, regulations (hereinafter referred to as “ the said
regulations ”) were made for purposes of the said Act : And
whereas it is desirable to amend the said regulations :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said
Act, and of every other power and authority enabling him
in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
make the following regulations amending the said regulations ;
and doth hereby declare that the same shall come into force
on the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATIONS.
- (1.) SUBCLAUSE (1) of clause 7 of the said regulations is
hereby amended by inserting, after the word “ hereto,” the
words “ or to the like effect.”
(2.) Subclause (2) of clause 7 of the said regulations is
hereby revoked.

Clause 8 of the said regulations is hereby revoked, and
the following substituted therefor :—
“ 8. Every society, association, or body of persons collecting
for, but not administering, a war fund shall furnish to the
Minister, not later than the 15th day of April, July, October,
and January respectively in each year, a statement, in the
form No. 4 in the Schedule hereto, or to the like effect, re-
specting moneys received and paid out by such society,
association, or body of persons during the preceding calendar
quarter.” -
Clause 29 of the said regulations is hereby revoked, and
the following substituted therefor :—
PERMITS TO COLLECT OR RAISE MONEYS FOR WAR FUNDS.
“ 29. (1.) Every permit to solicit or receive direct con-
tributions for a war fund shall be in the form No. 10 in the
Schedule hereto ; provided, however, that if any society,
association, or body of persons possessing a war fund, and
incorporated under the said Act, or the incorporated trustees
of a war fund, desires to use any other form of permit, it
may, subject to the approval of the Minister, use or authorize
the use of such form in lieu of the form hereby prescribed.
“ (2.) Every permit to raise moneys for Red Cross or
Lady Liverpool war funds, or for the purchase of articles
of comfort for soldiers, by the sale of goods through the
medium of Patriotic Shops shall be in the form No. 11 in
the Schedule hereto, or to the like effect.
“ (3.) Every permit to raise money by means of bazaars,
socials, exhibitions, or similar means for any war fund shall
be in the form No. 12 in the Schedule, or to the like effect.”
- Clause 30 of the said regulations is hereby revoked, and
the following substituted therefor :—
“ 30. (1.) Every such permit as aforesaid issued by a Mayor,
County Chairman, or Chairman of a Town Board or Road
Board shall be a lawful authority to the person named therein
to solicit or receive contributions or raise moneys for a war
fund only within the borough or county, town district or
road district, of which the person issuing the same is Mayor
or Chairman.
“ (2.) Every such permit as aforesaid issued by the in-
corporated trustees of a war fund, or by the President or
Chairman of a war fund incorporated under the Act, or by
an Inspector of Police, or by a person authorized in that
behalf by the Minister, may authorize the holder thereof
to solicit or receive contributions or to raise money for a war
fund only within an area to be specified in the permit ;
provided that if any person authorized by the Minister to
issue permits is authorized so to issue permits for a particular
district only, a permit issued by such person shall be a lawful
authority to solicit or receive contributions or raise money
for a war fund only within such district.”
- The Schedule to the said regulations is hereby amended
by revoking forms Nos. 3, 4, 10, and 11, and substituting
therefor the following forms :—
