TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL RATE.

WHEREAS the Taumarunui Borough Council lately took steps to raise a loan of eight thousand four hundred and thirty-four pounds (£8,434), under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system to certain streets: And whereas the special rate made as security for the said loan (namely, one and one-ninth of a penny in the pound) has been found insufficient, and it is expedient to amend the same:

Now, therefore, the Taumarunui Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on it by section twenty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of eight thousand four hundred and thirty-four pounds (£8,434), authorized to be raised by the Taumarunui Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system, the said Taumarunui Borough Council hereby increases the special rate made as a security for the said loan—namely, one and one-ninth of a penny in the pound to one and two-ninths of a penny (1d. and 2/9d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) of that portion of the Borough of Taumarunui comprising Blocks I to IX inclusive, and Blocks XIII to XVII inclusive, in the Native Township portion of the Borough of Taumarunui, Blocks I to V inclusive in Bell’s Extension, Sections 6 to 11 inclusive, and Sections 14, 15, and 16, Block IV, and the whole of Blocks VI and VII, in the Rangaroa Village Settlement, and the whole of what is known as Ngatai’s Extension.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Taumarunui Borough Council as passed at a meeting of the said Council at Taumarunui on the 2nd day of October, 1917.

That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of three hundred and fifteen pounds (£315), authorized to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the northern approach in the Borough of Masterton, the said Masterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight-thousandths part of one penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Masterton, comprising the whole of the Borough of Masterton.
