LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

STRATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Stratford Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000), authorized to be raised by the Stratford Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of reconstructing with concrete, and such other materials as the Council shall think fit, the undermentioned streets or portions of streets within the Borough of Stratford—viz., Broadway, for its entire length; the portions of Fenton Street and Regan Street lying between Juliet Street and Broadway; and the portion of Juliet Street lying between Regan Street and Fenton Street—the said Stratford Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-eighth of a penny (1½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Stratford. And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, or any part thereof, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or any part thereof, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Stratford Borough Council held on Monday, the 28th day of January, 1918.

UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell,

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, the Cromwell Development Company (Limited), a company duly incorporated under the Companies Act, 1908, having its registered office in Dunedin, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 5 p.m., 6th February, 1918.

Date and number of miner’s right: 15th August, 1917; No. 112898.

Address for service: Care of A. M. Brodrick, Solicitor, Cromwell.

Dated at Cromwell this 8th day of February, 1918.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Starting at a point in Stony Creek, in applicant’s freehold, Section 25, Block III, Cromwell District, one chain above abandoned race known as Charcoal Race, and terminating in said abandoned race about ten chains south of said creek.

Length and intended course of race: 16½ chains; north to south.

Points of intake: Stony Creek.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Five weeks; £20.

Mean depth and breadth: 15 in. wide, 12 in. deep.

Number of heads to be diverted: One-tenth of a head.
