Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—RURAL LAND.
Mangonui County.—Awanui Parish.
SECTION S.E. 14: Area, 85 acres 2 roods 17 perches; upset price, £150.
Weighted with £419, valuation for improvements comprising four-roomed house with iron roof, draining, fencing, clearing, and grassing.
Altitude, 40 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. About 18 acres rich swamp, balance easy slopes to hilly land covered with fern and manuka. Poor clay soil on hills, rich peat on clay subsoil in swamp; poorly watered by drains. Distant about two miles from Awanui, one mile formed and metalled road, balance unformed.
Waitemata County.—Pukeatua Parish.
Section N.E. 126: Area, 36 acres; upset price, £55.
Altitude, 40 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, practically all ploughed, covered with manuka and fern. Loamy grey and brown soil, medium to good in quality, on clay subsoil; well watered by stream. Between three and four miles from Silverdale by fair cart-road.
Mangonui County.—Maungataniwha East Parish.
Section N. part 28: Area, 38 acres 2 roods 6 perches; upset price, £50.
Altitude, 350 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level. Hilly to broken land, covered with rather heavy mixed forest comprising rimu, puriri, totara, tarare, rata, rewarewa, kohekohe, and a few scattered kauri-trees, with thick undergrowth of pukapuka, mahoe, kotu uku, houhere, hangehange, kiekie, punga, nikau, supplejack, &c. Fair soil, sandy clay and rubbly formation, stony in places, on sandstone formation; well watered by permanent streams. Distant about six miles and a half from Peria, four miles and three-quarters of which is by formed and partly metalled cart-road, balance as yet unformed.

SECTION E 124: Area, 40 acres 1 rood; upset price, £80.
Altitude, 20 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, all ploughable, and covered with short fern and manuka. Soil fair brown loam, on clay subsoil; well watered by running stream. Distant about three miles and a half from Silverdale by fair road, unmetalled.
Bay of Islands County.—Ruapekapeka Parish.
Section 70: Area, 24 acres 2 roods 30 perches; upset price, £15.
Altitude, 100 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Very broken land, covered with fern, manuka, and a small quantity of danthonia. Clay soil, on sandstone formation; well watered by two streams. Distant about three miles and a half from Taumarere Railway-station by cart-road.
Bay of Islands County.—Kawakawa Survey District.
Section 87, Block XVI: Area, 24 acres 1 rood 20 perches; upset price, £25.
Altitude, 200 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken fern and manuka land, with small quantity of danthonia grass. Soil poor clay, on sandstone formation; poorly watered by small stream. Distant about two miles from Kawakawa by cart-road, about one mile and a half of which is metalled.
Raglan County.—Whaingaroa Parish.
Section 144: Area, 13 acres 1 rood 19 perches; upset price, £50.
Undulating and hilly land, except small river-flats, covered with furze and blackberry. Soil of fair second-class quality, well watered by stream. Section fronts main Hamilton-Raglan Road, a few chains from Te Uku Post-office.
Waipa County.—Town of Whatawhata.
Section 46: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £6.
Level land in grass and scrub, about a quarter of a mile from Whatawhata Post-office, which is about seven miles from Frankton Junction by good road.
Waitomo County.—Orahiri Survey District.
Section 17, Block VIII: Area, 37 acres 3 roods 27 perches; upset price, £55.
Altitude, 150 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating country, covered with fern and tutu; nearly all ploughable. Light soil of medium quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by small swamps. Distant about three miles and a half from Otorohanga by wagon-track, partly formed.
Hokianga County.—Rawene Town.
Section 200: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £5.
Fronts Marmon Street, a little over a mile from Rawene Wharf.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—MANGONUI COUNTY.
Second-class Land.
SECTION 8, Block VI, Maungataniwha Survey District, and Sections S. 32 and S. 33, Maungataniwha East Parish: Area, 310 acres 1 rood 3 perches. Capital value, £370. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £9 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £7 8s.
Altitude, 450 ft. to 1,300 ft. above sea-level. Hilly to broken land, covered with rather heavy mixed forest comprising rimu, puriri, totara, tarare, rata, rewarewa, koheko, and a few scattered kauri-trees, with thick undergrowth of pukapuka, mahoe, kotutuku, houhere, hangehange, kiekie, punga, nikau, supplejack, &c. Fair soil, sandy clay and rubbly formation, stony in places, on sandstone formation; well watered by permanent stream. Distant about six miles and a half from Peria, four miles and three-quarters of which is by formed and partly metalled cart-road, balance as yet unformed.
