KAIRANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kairanga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Kairanga County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the completion of a water-race in the Fitzherbert West Water-race District, the said Kairanga County Council hereby makes and levies special rates as follows: ¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property classed “A” in the said district, and ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property classed “C” in the said district. And that such special rates shall be annual-recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Kairanga County Council at a meeting held on the 27th day of November, 1918.

ELSTOW DRAINAGE BOARD.
ELSTOW NO. 2 SPECIAL RATING AREA.—SPECIAL LOAN OF £5,000.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL INTEREST RATES.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Elstow Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest on a special loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Elstow Drainage Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for widening, deepening, and improving present watercourses and drains, and constructing new watercourses and drains, and contingencies and engineering charges in connection therewith, within the Elstow No. 2 Special Rating Area of the Elstow Drainage District, the Elstow Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate (on a graduated scale according to the classification list of lands in the said Elstow No. 2 Special Rating Area) of thirteen-sixteenths of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in Class “A,” eleven-sixteenths of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in Class “B,” and nine-sixteenths of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in Class “C,” all of which classes and the lands therein, together with their rateable values as appearing on the valuation roll of the district, are set out in the classification list of the Elstow No. 2 Special Rating Area; and that such special rates shall be annually recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of September and the first day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Boundaries of Special Rating Area.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waihou River at the crossing of the Paeroa-Tahuna Road; thence along the left bank of that river to a point in line with the northernmost corner of Lot 5 of part Section 12, Block XII, Waitoa S.D.; thence following the north-western boundary-line of that section to the Stanley Road on its western side, and along that road in a southerly direction to the Te Kawana Road on its northern side; thence following that road in a westerly direction to a point in line with the western boundary of Sections 7 and 8, Block XII, Waitoa S.D.; thence following the said western boundary to the south-west corner of Section 8; thence along the south-eastern boundary of that section to the road, and across same and along the eastern boundary of Sections 82, 81, 80, 79, 78, 77, and across the railway reserve to the eastern boundary of Section 88, Block XII, Waitoa S.D., to the road, which along in an easterly direction to the Stanley Road, and across same to its eastern side; thence along that road to the south-eastern corner of the Te Aroha Borough Endowment, and along the south-eastern boundary to the river on its left bank, which along in a southerly direction to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block XI, Aroha S.D.; thence to and along the south-eastern boundary of that section and
along the north-eastern side of the Stanley Road to the cemetery reserve; along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of that reserve to and along Stanley Road to a point distant fifteen chains from the southernmost corner of Section 8 aforesaid; thence along a right line to the eastern end of Racecourse Road at the south-eastern corner of Section 105, Block XI, Aroha S.D., along the northern side of that road to O’Brien’s Road; thence along a right line across Sections 101, 100, 4, and 3 to a point on Cribb’s Road at the south-western corner of Section 3, Block XI, Aroha S.D.; thence along a line parallel to the Thames-Waikato Road, across Sections 92A and 92, to the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 92, Block XI, Aroha S.D.; along that boundary to the northernmost corner of Section 263, Waihou Town; thence along the eastern boundary of Sections 263, 262, 257, and 256, Waihou Town, to Taylor’s Road, and along that road to Hall Road, along Hall Road to the Thames-Waikato Road, along that road to its junction with the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, Waihou Town, in Block XVI, Waitoa S.D., to the southernmost corner of that section; along the eastern side of the road forming the western boundaries of Sections 9 and 8, across the railway, and along the north-eastern side of the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 18, 24, and 25 to the north-eastern boundary of the Hungahunga Drainage District as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th December, 1912, page 3451, and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of that drainage district to the Waitoa River; along that river on its right bank to the crossing of the Paeroa-Tauhuna Road on its southern side, and along that road to the point of commencement.

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.
NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
IN pursuance of the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the body corporate called the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Devonport hereby gives notice that the lands described in the Schedule hereto, already laid off as a street known as Buchanan Street, are required for the purpose of a public street, and will require to be taken by the said corporate body under the provisions of the above Acts; and that a survey has been made and plan has been prepared (signed by Messrs. Harrison and Grierson, of Auckland, Surveyors) showing such land, together with the names of the owners and occupiers thereof so far as they can be ascertained, and that a copy of such plan has been deposited at the offices of the said corporation in King Edward Parade, Devonport, the place directed by the said corporation, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objection to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the 30th day of November, 1918 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Town Clerk, Devonport.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land situated at Devonport, in the Provincial District of Auckland, being parts of Allotments Twenty and Twenty A of Section Two of the Parish of Takapuna, situated in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Rattray Street, 60·6 links; towards the east by other parts of Allotments Twenty A and Twenty, 993·8 links; towards the south-west by Clarence Street; and towards the west by other parts of Allotments Twenty and Twenty A, 959 links. As now in use and known as Buchanan Street, and having a uniform width of 60·6 links. As the same is shown on the said plan deposited at the offices of the said corporation in King Edward Parade, Devonport.
