Altering Boundaries of Waiapu and Waikohu Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force :

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Waiapu County Council on the twenty-second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen :

And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Waikohu County Council on the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, praying for the alteration of the boundaries of such counties in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto :

And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in accordance with the said resolutions :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act as amended by the Counties Amendment Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, now being part of the County of Waiapu, shall, as on and from the fifth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, be deemed to be added to and form part of the County of Waikohu ; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Waiapu and Waikohu respectfully shall, as on and from the aforesaid date, be those set forth under their respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM WAIAPU COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN WAIKOHU COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundaries of S.G.R. No. 98 and Section No. 1, Block V, Tutamoe Survey District, and by the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 1, Block VI, of the aforesaid Survey District ; thence towards the south-east generally by the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section, the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 2, Block V aforesaid, and the south-eastern boundary of Section No. I, Block IX, of the aforesaid Survey District ; thence towards the south-west by the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section and of Small Grazing run No. 98 aforesaid to the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

WAIKOHU COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north-west generally by Opotiki County, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1912, page 3042, from the summit of the Mangapowhatu Mountain to the intersection of the western boundary of Huiarua No. 3 Block ; thence towards the north-east generally by the Huiarua No. 3 Block to the Cook County boundary ; thence towards the east and south-east generally by the Cook County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1912, page 1564, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block VIII, Tuahu Survey District : thence towards the south-west generally by the northern boundary of that section, across the Mangatahae Stream, by Lot 21 of Tahora 2r, Section No. 2 Block, by Lots 24 and 23 of Tahora 2c 1, Section No. 3 Block, by Lot No. 18 of Tahora 2r, Section No. 2 Block, and a line in continuation of its western boundary-line to the intersection of a right line from Puketapu Trig. Station to the summit of Mangapowhatu Mountain ; and thence by the last-mentioned line to the place of commencement.

WAIAPU COUNTY.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north and east generally by the sea, from the south-western corner of Whangaparaoa No. 1 Block to the north-eastern corner of Cook County ; towards the south generally by Cook and Waikohu Counties hereinbefore
