Authorizing Seizure of Vegetables, Apples, and Fish in the Wellington Districts.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Act, 1914,
it is provided that at any time when His Majesty is at war
with any foreign Prince or State it shall be lawful for the Governor-
General, whenever he deems it necessary in the public interest so to do,
by Warrant under his hand, to authorize and direct any person to whom
the Warrant is addressed to seize and take possession on behalf and for
the use of His Majesty of any goods or class of goods specified or de-
scribed in the Warrant :

And whereas His Majesty is now at war with a foreign State, and
the Governor-General deems it necessary in the public interest to seize
and take possession on behalf and for the use of His Majesty of all
vegetables, apples, and fish in the City of Wellington, the Boroughs of
Eastbourne, Karori, Lower Hutt, Miramar, Onslow, and Petone, the
Town Districts of Johnsonville and Upper Hutt, and the Counties of
Hutt and Makara :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do by these pre-
sents empower, authorize, and direct you, Samuel Percival Norwood,
Superintendent of Police, and all constables and other persons acting by
your direction, to seize and take possession on behalf and for the use
of His Majesty of all vegetables, apples, and fish in the City of Welling-
ton, the Boroughs of Eastbourne, Karori, Lower Hutt, Miramar, Onslow,
and Petone, the Town Districts of Johnsonville and Upper Hutt; and the
Counties of Hutt and Makara.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this eighteenth day of November, one thousand nine hun-
dred and eighteen.
