Settlement Lands set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the areas of settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Johnson Settlement.

SECTION 3, Block III, Wairoa Survey District: Area, 420 acres 3 roods 34 perches.

Perham Settlement.

Sections 22 and 22A, Block VII, Waitohu Survey District: Area, 279 acres 1 rood 8 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor-General; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

RATAKURA SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 267 acres and 32 perches, more or less, and being Sections 6, 7, 11, and 12, Block IV, Totaranui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections 13 and 5, Block IV aforesaid, 3274·9 and 1088·7 links; towards the north-east by a road one chain wide along the shore of Tasman Bay; towards the south-east by Section 5, Block VI, Totaranui Survey District aforesaid, a line across a road, and again by the said Section 5, 3322·5 links; and towards the south-west by Section 9, Block VI aforesaid, a line across a road, again by the said Section 9, and by Sections 19 and 22, Block IV aforesaid, a total of 6492·2 links: excepting the road one chain wide (along the banks of Waiharakeke Stream) which intersects the land included within the above-described boundaries. Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
