HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the said Horowhenua County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for constructing water-races and extending same in the Waikawa-Kuku Water-race Special Rating District, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventh of one penny in the pound of the rateable value of the whole of the rateable property in the said Waikawa-Kuku Special Rating District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Horowhenua County Council at a duly constituted meeting held on the 12th day of October, 1918.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whakatane Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Whakatane Borough Council Municipal Buildings Loan, £1,000, 1918, authorized to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting municipal buildings, that said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between the undersigned, ANTOINE WILLIAM MEYER and EDWARD JAMES McGONNELL, carrying on business in copartnership at Mangaweka as Livery-stable and Garage Proprietors, under the style or firm of “Meyer and McGonnell,” was on the 16th day of October instant dissolved by mutual consent. All debts due to and accounts owing by the late firm must be paid or rendered to Messrs. ARROWSMITH AND LOUGHNAN, Solicitors, Taihape, by whom the Partnership business is being wound up.

MOA ROAD BOARD.

SPECIAL ORDER LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE FOR ONE YEAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING NORFOLK ROAD WEST.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Moa Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That the prayer of the petition of the ratepayers of the Norfolk Road West be granted, and the Moa Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of maintaining the Norfolk Road West, hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Norfolk Road West Special Rating District, comprising Sections 160, 171, 172, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 197, 198, 199, 200, 201, 202, 203, 205, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Block XII, Egmont Survey District; 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, 170, 173, 174, 175, 176 (in two subdivisions), 177, Block VIII, Egmont Survey District. And that such special rate shall be for one year, for the period commencing on the 1st day of January, 1918, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1918, and be payable in one instalment on the 11th day of November, 1918.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908, at a special meeting of the Moa Road Board held on 7th September, 1918, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 5th October, 1918.
