Commencing at a point on the southern side of May’s Road ten chains from its intersection with Papanui Road; thence parallel with Papanui Road going south to the north side of Weston Road; thence along the northern side of Weston Road to Rutland Street; thence southerly along Rutland Street to St. Albans Creek; thence following St. Albans Creek to a point five chains north of Edgeware Road; thence easterly parallel with Edgeware Road to a point on Rural Section 219 opposite a line taken through Rural Section 286, two and a half chains east of Barbadoes Street and parallel with that street; thence southerly along the said line to the north side of Bealey Avenue; thence westerly along the north side of Bealey Avenue and the River Avon to Rossall Street; thence along the eastern side of Rossall Street to a point ten chains north of Leinster Road on Rural Section 142; thence easterly parallel with Leinster Road to a point twenty chains from Papanui Road; thence northerly parallel with Papanui Road through Rural Sections 142 and 299 to Norman’s Road; thence along Norman’s Road, Papanui Road, and May’s Road to the starting-point.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on the 26th day of August, 1918.

NEW BRIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the New Brighton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorized to be raised by the New Brighton Borough Council for the purpose of forming and metalling and kerbing on the Esplanade and Fleming Street, the New Brighton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sevenpence farthing (7¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable values of all rateable property included in the Esplanade and Fleming Street Loan Area, such area being in Block 8 of the Christchurch Survey District, described as follows:—

Commencing at a point on the northern boundary of Bowhill Road, being the northern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 3541; thence northerly to the southern boundary of Lot 4; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Lots 4, 3, 2, and 1 of the same plan, and in a direct line across Osborne Terrace to the southern boundary of Lot 7; thence easterly and northerly across Swann Street and along the western boundaries of Lots 25 and 24 and part 23, D.P. 566, to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 3255; thence westerly to the Government Road; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said road to a point two and a half chains north of Fleming Street; thence easterly to the southern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 566; thence northerly to the southern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 3255; thence easterly along the boundaries of Lots 6, 5, and 4 to the western boundary of Lot 1; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3 to Berry Street; thence easterly along Berry Street to the Esplanade; thence southerly along the Esplanade to Bowhill Road; thence westerly along Bowhill Road to the commencing-point.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the New Brighton Borough Council as passed at a meeting of the said Council at New Brighton on the 26th day of August, 1918.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £150, authorized to be raised by the New Brighton Borough Council for the purpose of forming and metalling Jubilee Avenue, the New Brighton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two and a half pence (2½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable properties included in the Jubilee Avenue Loan Area, such area being in Block 8 of the Christchurch Survey District, described as follows:—

Commencing at a point being the north-western corner of Lot 7 as shown on deposit plan 1602; thence north-easterly along the southern boundary of Pacific Street to the north-western boundary of Lot 54 as shown on the sale plan of the Raeburn Subdivision; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said lot to Lot 19, D.P. 3254; thence easterly along the eastern boundary of the said lot; thence southerly to the southern boundary of Lot 21 as shown on the same plan; thence westerly to Marriotts Road; thence northerly to the commencing-point.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding publication.
