And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of an extract from the minute-books of the Moa Road Board, and that the resolution was passed at a meeting of the Moa Road Board held at Inglewood on Saturday, the 10th day of July, 1918.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof; and in the matter of the Napier Main School.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the Education District of Hawke’s Bay propose to take, under the above-cited Act, for the purposes of a public school, all and singular the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereunder written; and that the taking of the said parcels of land for the purposes aforesaid has been consented to by His Excellency the Governor-General in Council, pursuant to section 15 of the said Act, as appears from an Order in Council bearing date the 13th day and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 15th day of August last; and that the said Board further propose to construct upon the land so taken a certain local work—to wit, a schoolhouse, with all necessary and usual out-buildings.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land proposed to be taken as aforesaid has been this day deposited in the offices of the said Board in Browning Street, Napier, and will there remain open to inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours until the 15th day of October next inclusive, being a period of forty days from the date appointed for the first publication of this notice—that is to say, the 5th day of September instant. And all persons affected by the above proposals are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections they may have respectively to the taking of the said land or the execution of the said work, and to send all such writings addressed to the Secretary of the said Board at the offices aforesaid within forty days from the last-mentioned date.

UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take for a public work—namely, a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914—all that piece of land containing 4 acres 1 rood 5·4 perches, and situate in and being parts of Sections 9 and 13 on the plan of the Watts Peninsula District, and being the lots numbered from 36 to 69 (inclusive) on the plan of the subdivision made by the owners of the Miramar Tramway Junction Estate.

And notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of the said Board in Mercer Street, in the City of Wellington, and at the Kilbirnie Post-office.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing well-grounded objection to the execution of such work or the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Board.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL RATE.—ST. ALBANS £23,000 LOAN.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-three thousand pounds (£23,000), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the whole of a loan raised by the late St. Albans Borough Council, which fell due on the 1st day of July, 1918, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-nine sixty-fourths (39/64ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the St. Albans Special Rating Area No. 1; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of eleven (11) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
