Notice to Mariners.—No. 3 of 1918.
GISBORNE ROADSTEAD.—REMOVAL OF LIGHT-BUOY.

Wellington, N.Z., 24th January, 1918.
THE Gisborne Harbour Board has notified that on or
about 8th February, 1918, the red flashing light-buoy
marking Temoana Rock in the Gisborne Roadstead will be
removed for repairs, and will be replaced by a black unlighted
buoy.

HOKIANGA RIVER ENTRANCE.—BAR CHANGES.

Wellington, N.Z., 24th January, 1918.
NOTICE is hereby given that the channel at the Hokianga
River entrance has altered slightly to the northward.
The extreme southernmost limit of the channel now bears
from the flagstaff at Hokianga Heads S. 85° W. (magnetic)
with a depth at M.L.W.S. of 18 ft.

HIKUTU ROCK, TOKOMARU BAY.

Wellington, N.Z., 29th January, 1918.
THE Tokomaru Harbour Board notify that the black can
buoy marking Hikutu Rock, which broke adrift on
10th instant, has been replaced by a black cone buoy in the
same position. Bearings from buoy: Maratiri, 308° (N. 67°
W. magnetic), distant 2·1 miles; Hikutu Rock, 215° (S. 20°
W. magnetic).

Hawtrey Settlement is situated about twelve chains from
Johnsonville Railway-station, and adjoins the northern
boundary of the township. It is subdivided into areas containing good building-sites, and is suitable for persons employed in the city who wish to establish homes of their own. The land is in grass, having been cleared and sown many
years ago. The soil is of fair quality, on rock formation.
TERMS OF SALE.
The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred
payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The
terms are—
(1.) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of
the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1),
within thirty days thereafter.
(2.) Deferred payments.—5 per cent. of the purchase-money and license fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the hammer ;
balance by equal annual instalments extending over nineteen
years, with interest payable half-yearly at the rate of 5 per
cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money ; but with
the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the
outstanding amount.
In either case if the purchaser fails to make any of the
prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money
or interest, the amount (if any) already paid shall be forfeited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and
void.
Titles will be subject to section 60 of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1912.
