OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the
Mareretu Riding in the Otamatea County was taken on the
3rd day of August, 1918, on the proposal of the Otamatea
County Council to borrow the sum of £5,000 for metalling
and general improvement of roads in the Mareretu Riding.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 30,
and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was
12.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Franklin County Council, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £5,000
over Mangatangi - New Brighton Special Rating Area.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the
Mangatangi-New Brighton Special Rating Area in Franklin
County was taken on the 3rd day of August, 1918, on the pro-
posai of the Franklin County Council to borrow the sum of
£5,000 for the following purposes :-

(a.) For construction of the road known as Mangatangi
Road, from the eastern boundary of Koheroa Block
to eastern boundary of Section 163, Koheroa Parish :
£500.

(b.) For legalization and construction of the road known
as Mangatangi - New Brighton Road, from eastern
boundary of Section 163, Koheroa Parish, to north-
eastern corner of Opita Block : £3,000.

(c.) For construction of the road known as Mangatangi-
Miranda Road, from the eastern boundary of Sec-
tion 163, Koheroa Parish, to the Miranda Landing :
£1,500.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 25,
and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was
nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

IT is hereby notified for general information that the
Surveyors Board, in conjunction with the Australian
Surveyors Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates
for licenses to survey, commencing at 10 a.m. on
Monday, 23rd September, 1918, at Wellington

Candidates are notified that their applications, on the
proper form, with the examination fee of £1 is., must reach
the Secretary of the Board not later than 5 p.m. on the
12th September.

Examination regulations, application forms, and other particulars
may be obtained from the Secretary.

The amount of postage must also be remitted if plans and
field-books are desired to be returned by post.

Unclaimed Property.

WHEREAS it was reported to the Public Trustee that
Hugh Doherty, formerly of Longburn, in the Provincial
District of Wellington, was the owner of personal property
in New Zealand, and it was not known whether the said Hugh
Doherty was alive or dead or where he was:

And whereas the Public Trustee applied to the Supreme Court
for an order under section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act,
1908, in respect of such property; and by an order made in the
Supreme Court at Wellington on the 20th day of April, 1918, the
Public Trustee was authorized to exercise in respect of such
property all or any of the powers specified in the said section
87 as amended by section 36 of the Public Trust Office Amendment
Act, 1913:

And whereas such property is situated in the Provincial District
of Wellington:

Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he proposes
to exercise in respect of such property the powers conferred on
him by the said section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act as
amended by the said section 36 of the Public Trust Office
Amendment Act, 1913.
