thereof is resumed. He shall also similarly report as to a
contributor whose salary is temporarily stopped for any
other reason than ill health, or who is for any period on
leave of absence from his Department without salary or at
a reduced salary.
(2.) He shall also state under which paragraph of regula-
tion 19 a contributor whose salary is temporarily stopped on
the ground of ill health has elected to contribute.

Amending an Order in Council fixing Fees for Dealings with
Leases of Education Reserves.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth day
of August, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the nine-
teenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred
and twelve, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-second
day of that month, certain fees were prescribed for deal-
ings with leases of education reserves, in terms of section
ten of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911 (here-
inafter termed “the said Act”):

And whereas it is expedient that the said Order in Council
should be amended in so far as the same relates to the fee to
be charged for the approval of mortgages of leases:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authori-
ties conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby amend
the above-recited Order in Council by deleting from the
Schedule thereto the words “For approval of mortgage of
lease, excluding the cost of registration, £1 1s.,” and sub-
stituting therefor the words “For approval of mortgage of
lease, excluding the cost of registration, £0 10s. 6d.” And
I do hereby order and declare that this Order in Council shall
take effect as from the date of its publication in the Gazette.

Authorizing Special Investment of £12,000 of the Public Trust
Office Funds.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day
of August, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid
Board (hereinafter called “the said Board”),
incorporated under the Hospital and Charitable Institutions
Act, 1909, has applied to the Public Trustee for a loan of
twelve thousand pounds:

And whereas the said Board, as security for the said loan,
has agreed to enter into a deed of covenant with the said
the Public Trustee that a contribution will be levied annually,
under the provisions of section forty-one of the said Act,
for the full amount of interest and principal payable by the
said Board to the said the Public Trustee for the year (such
security being referred to herein as “the said security”):

And whereas the said security is not one authorized by
the Public Trust Office Act, 1908:

And whereas by section ninety-one of the Public Revenues
Act, 1910, it is enacted that it shall be lawful to invest any
part of the balance of the Public Trust Office Account in
any securities which shall be declared by the Governor by
Order in Council to be securities in which such balance may
be invested:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General in and for the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that it shall be lawful
for the Public Trustee to invest out of the balance of the
Public Trust Office Account the said sum of twelve thousand
pounds.

Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a Public
School in the Borough of Napier.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth day
of August, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, in
section fifteen thereof, inter alia, enacted that,
except for the purpose of a railway or defence purposes, or
for the purposes of any other work to be made under the
authority of a special Act, nothing in this Act contained
shall authorize the taking of any land occupied by any
building, yard, garden, orchard, or vineyard, or in bona fide
occupation as an ornamental park or pleasure-ground, without
the previous consent of the Governor-General in Council or
the consent in writing of the owner first obtained:

And whereas the whole or nearly the whole of the land
described in the Schedule hereto is occupied by buildings,
yards, or gardens, and the Hawke’s Bay Education Board
has applied for the consent of the Governor-General in
Council to the taking of the said land for the purposes of a
public school, and it is expedient that such consent should
be given:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-
part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling
him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule
hereto being taken for the purposes above named.

Survey District, Waikohu County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth
day of August, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a)
of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a
local authority shall not declare any county road or district
road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor-
General, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:

And whereas the Waikohu County Council has applied for
such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule
hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-
in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Waikohu County
Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.
