Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that
the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall,
on and after the date of this Order in Council, become
a Government road.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road declared to be a Government road : 2 acres 1 rood 11 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 5, 10, 11, 12, 15, and
31, Blocks I and IV, Tuapeka Survey District.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44528,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured green.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government roads.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Makotuku Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1918.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:
And whereas by an Order in Council made on the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Makotuku Domain:
And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twenty-sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen:
And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

JOHN WILLIAM JOSEPH FITZGERALD, and CLARENCE GARRICK
as from the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, to be the Makotuku Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, at half past seven o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Public Library, Makotuku, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
MAKOTUKU DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 13, Block IX, Takapau Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a road-line, a distance of 499 links; towards the north-east by Section No. 12, a distance of 1001 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 25, a distance of 499 links; and towards the south-west by Section No. 14, a distance of 1001 links.
Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 18 acres 3 roods 18 perches, more or less, subject to right of road as shown on plan hereinafter mentioned, being Section No. 66, Block IX, Takapau Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 60, a distance of 2850·1 links; towards the north-east by a road-line, a distance of 108·5 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 119, a distance of 2662·4 links; and towards the south-west generally by the Mangatewainui Stream.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 1190, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Declaring a Native to be a European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1918.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council, on the recommendation of the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a European:
And whereas David Ormsby, of Mangaorongo, being a Native within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1909, applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the Court that he might be declared a European: And whereas the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application, has recommended that an Order in Council be issued declaring the said David Ormsby to be a European: And whereas it is expedient that such declaration should be made:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said David Ormsby, of Mangaorongo, to be a European.
