NOTICE is hereby given that this Council proposes to execute a certain public work, and for that purpose to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
The works proposed to be undertaken are the formation metalling, and drainage of a road in Whangara B 1, Blocks VI, X, Whangara Survey District, Poverty Bay Registration District.
Any person having any objection to the taking of the land, or who will be injuriously affected by the construction of the road, is required to state the objection in writing, and send the writing to the office of the Cook County Council, Childers Road, Gisborne, on or before the 28th day of August, 1918.
A plan of the land to be taken and of the works to be undertaken may be seen at the office of the Council during office hours.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given of the following resolution passed by the NEW ZEALAND PUMICE COMPANY (LIMITED), a private company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1908, entered in its minute-book, and signed therein by three-fourths of its shareholders holding three-fourths of the shares in the capital of the company :—
“That the New Zealand Pumice Company (Limited) go into voluntary liquidation forthwith; and that Mr. C. J. SHARPE be appointed Liquidator.”

MANUREWA TOWN DISTRICT.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Manurewa Town Board hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £650, authorized to be raised by the Manurewa Town Board, for the purpose of providing a public hall and recreation-ground for the Manurewa Town District, the said Manurewa Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh of a penny upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the Manurewa Town District; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly made and carried at an ordinary meeting of the Manurewa Town Board held on the 22nd day of July, 1918.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
THE Partnership heretofore existing between ALMA ROBERTSON and ALEXANDER KING in the business of Dairymen, formerly carried on in the name of “Robertson and Smith,” and lately in the name of “Robertson and King,” at Mount Albert Dairy-farm, 162 Russell Terrace, Wellington, has been dissolved as from this date. The business will henceforth be carried on by ALEXANDER KING, to whom all debts owing to the Partnership must be paid, and who will discharge the liabilities of the Partnership.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PETONE WATERWORKS AND TOWN CLOCK LOANS, 1912, REDEMPTION LOAN, 1918, OF £2,400.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Petone Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £2,400, authorized to be raised by the Petone Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying the Petone Waterworks Loan, 1912, of £2,000, and the Petone Town Clock Loan, 1912, of £600, the Petone Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth (1/12th) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the
