Lieutenant Cecil George Gray is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst on duty at General Headquarters (attached to the branch of the Director of Dental Services). Dated 25th June, 1918.
Lieutenant Harry Percy Rae Foster is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst in charge of the Dental Hospital at Tauherenikau Camp. Dated 11th July, 1918.
Lieutenant Thomas Joseph Rowley is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst on duty in N.Z. Expeditionary Force training-camps. Dated 4th July, 1918.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 81, of the 6th June, 1918, relating to 2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) Cyprian Everard Bridge, N.Z. Rifle Brigade, for the words “Machine-gun Instructor” read “Lewis-gun Instructor.”
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 168, of the 15th November, 1917, “Appointments of Officers to the N.Z. Expeditionary Force,” under the “Mounted Rifles,” after 2nd Lieutenant William Ricketts, Unattached List (b), General List, for the words “Dated 25th April, 1917,” read “Dated 24th March, 1917.”

MEMORANDUM.
2nd Lieutenant James Donald Burgess, Unattached List (b), having been struck off the strength of a N.Z. Expeditionary Force training-camp as medically unfit for active service, is reposted to his unit. Dated 9th August, 1917.
NOTE.—This officer served in a N.Z. Expeditionary Force training-camp from 14th November, 1916, to 9th August, 1917.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Featherston, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

FEATHERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Featherston was taken at the Borough Council Chambers, Featherston, on the 17th day of July, 1918, on the proposal of the Featherston Borough Council to borrow £1,500 for completing the sewerage contract and £500 for advancing to ratepayers, and I declare the result as under: The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 36, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil. I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District was taken on the 18th day of July, 1918, on a proposal to raise a special loan of £6,000 for erecting retaining sea-walls and other purposes in the said district, the purposes of such proposal being fully set forth in the New Zealand Herald of the 19th and 26th June and the 3rd and 10th July, being a newspaper circulating in the said district.
The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 150. The number of valid votes recorded against the pro-
