Constituting the Town District of Nightcaps, in the County of Wallace.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is enacted by the Town Boards Act, 1908, that the Governor-General may declare that any locality outside a borough wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district:
And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor-General by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the said petition, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under the Town Boards Act, 1908:
And whereas a Commission appointed in pursuance of section two of the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1912, held an inquiry, and reported that the locality defined in the said petition, as amended by the said Commission, was suitable for municipal control.
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto, being the locality defined in the said petition, with boundaries as altered by the said Commission, shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, by the name of the Nightcaps Town District. And, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of seven members.

SCHEDULE.
NIGHTCAPS TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Block 3, Village of Morley; thence easterly along the southern boundary of that block and Block 1 of the said village, and that line continued to the south-western boundary of Block 10, Town of Nightcaps; thence south-easterly along the said boundary of Block 10 to the south-west corner of the Town of Nightcaps aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the south boundary of the said town and that boundary continued to the south-west boundary of church-site; thence south-easterly along the said boundary to the Waicola Stream; thence north-westerly along the said stream to the north-eastern side of the Nightcaps–Wrey’s Bush Road; thence north-westerly along the said road to the pound-site, a distance of 420 links; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said pound-site for a distance of 220 links, and that line continued to the north-western side of the Nightcaps–Beaumont Road; thence south-westerly along said road to the Nightcaps–Wrey’s Bush Road aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the northern side of last-mentioned road for a distance of 463 links to the eastern boundary of the Nightcaps Coal Company’s property; thence north along the said boundary for a distance of 2600 links; thence due west to the Wairio Stream; thence north-westerly along the left bank of the said stream to a point in line with the north boundary of Block 7, Morley Village aforesaid; thence westerly to and along the said boundary to the north-west corner of Block 7 aforesaid; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Blocks 7 and 3, Village of Morley aforesaid, including the crossing of a public road intervening, to the point of commencement.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Stratford–Kawakawa Railway (now Stratford–Main Trunk Railway).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Stratford–Kawakawa Railway (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Public Works Act, 1908: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same to the extent specified in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Crown land or railway reserve adjacent to Section 2A, Block VI, Ohura Survey District, marked 16 miles 55 chains, which point is also the termination of the railway as defined in a Proclamation dated the 22nd day of December, 1913, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 1, page 3, of the 15th day of January, 1914; and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly and then southerly direction for a distance of about 2 miles 35 chains, and passing in, into, through or over the following lands, &c.—viz., Crown land or railway reserve and Manga-roa B 2B, Block VI, Ohura Survey District; Taurangi Block 4, Block V, Ohura Survey District; Sections 4 and 5, Block IX, Section 5, Block VIII, and Sections 1 and 2, Block VII, Ohura Township Extension No. 1, scenery reserve; Sections 5, 8, 10, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17, Block III, Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block XII, Ohura Township; and Crown land or railway reserve, Block V, Ohura Survey District; and terminating at a point in the said Crown land or railway reserve, Block V, Ohura Survey District, marked 19 miles 10 chains: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Taranaki Land District. In the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44321, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without com-
