Declaring certain Areas added to the County of Horowhenua to
be included in the Tokomaru and Wirokino Ridings thereof.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-seventh
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and
seventeen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and
seventeen, the boundaries of the Counties of Horowhenua,
Masterton, Mauriceville, and Eketahuna were altered by the
exclusion of certain areas from the Counties of Masterton,
Mauriceville, and Eketahuna, and the inclusion of such areas
in the County of Horowhenua: And whereas it is desirable
that the areas so added to the County of Horowhenua should
be included in the Tokomaru and Wirokino Ridings of that
county:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
upon me by section twenty-two of the Counties Act, 1908,
do hereby declare that the areas included as aforesaid in the
County of Horowhenua shall on and from the first day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, be included
in the Tokomaru and Wirokino Ridings of the said county,
and that the boundaries of those ridings shall be those set
forth respectively in the First and Second Schedules hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

TOKOMARU RIDING, HOROWHENUA COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded
towards the west generally by the Manawatu County from a
point in line with the western boundary of Section 1, Block X,
Mount Robinson Survey District, to the western boundary
of the Kairanga County; thence towards the north generally
by the Kairanga County to the western boundary of the
Eketahuna County; thence towards the east by the Eketahuna County to its south-western corner; thence by a right
line to the intersection of the summit of Tararua Range
with the northern boundary of Section 2, Block IV, Waiopehu
Survey District; thence by the Tararua Range aforesaid
to the southern boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Waiopehu
Survey District; thence by the southern and part of the
western boundaries of the said Section 3 to a point in line
with the southern boundary of Section 12, Block XV, Mount
Robinson Survey District; thence across a road and by
the southern boundary of Section 12 aforesaid and Sections 13 and 20, Block XV, Mount Robinson Survey District, and the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section produced to the centre of a public road; thence by the centre of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 4, Block XV, Mount Robinson Survey District; thence to and by the southern boundary of that section, the southern boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block XV, Mount Robinson Survey District, the abutment of a road, and by the southern boundary of Section 3, Block X, Mount Robinson Survey District; thence across the Manawatu Railway-line, and by the western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block X, Mount Robinson Survey District, and the western boundary of Section 1 aforesaid produced, to the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

WIROKINO RIDING, HOROWHENUA COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded
towards the north generally by the southern boundary of
the Manawatu County from the mouth of the Manawatu
River to the Tokomaru Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the north-east by the Tokomaru Riding to
the south-eastern boundary of the Horowhenua County; thence by that boundary in a southerly direction to the
southern boundary of Ohau No. 2 Block; thence towards
the south-west by the south-western boundaries of Ohau
No. 2 and Ohau No. 3 Blocks to the high-water mark of the
sea; thence towards the west generally by the sea to the
mouth of the Manawatu River, the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty's
Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George, Member of the
Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and
Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's
Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said
Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
