the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”),
doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the
admission of persons to that part of the Dannevirke Race-
course Reserve situate at Tamaki set apart for racing pur-
poses, and known as Dannevirke Racecourse, while the said
racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race
meetings.
- In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. - The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the part of the said Dannevirke Racecourse Reserve
while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race
meeting, namely :—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful
visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Dannevirke Racing Club
(Incorporated) were made and passed by the members of the
club on the eighth day of May, 1917, and signed by the
Chairman and Secretary.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Methven Racing Club at a meeting held on
the third day of November, 1915, at Methven, with a recom-
mendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. C. A. Cuff,
that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval
by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908,
section 33.
Mr. C. A. Cuff, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting,
moved, and Mr. T. Twomey, Vice-President, seconded, and
it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and
that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authen-
tication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—
METHVEN RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Methven
Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said
Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby
make the following regulations controlling the admission of
persons to that part of the grounds situate in the District
of Mount Hutt Road Board, Methven, and known as the
Mount Harding Racecourse, while the said racecourse is
used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.
- In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. - The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the racecourse above described while the same is used
or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no
lawful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Methven Racing Club
were made and passed by the Methven Racing Club on the
third day of November, 1915, and signed by the Chairman

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering Act,
1897, the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899, the
Wellington City Empowering Act, 1908, the Public Works
Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and
their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of
Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the
above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it
in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, the
widening of Luxford Street and South Road of the City of
Wellington; and for the purpose of such public works the
lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be
taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the
land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of
the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba
Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection
(without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and
that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public
work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same
in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council,
addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

HUNTLY TOWN DISTRICT.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Huntly Town Board
hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of
£575, authorized to be raised by the said Huntly Town Board,
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing
a sum sufficient to complete payment for the electric light
and power plant already laid down, and which cost £575
more than was anticipated, the said Huntly Town Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a
penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the
Town District of Huntly ; and that such rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April during the currency
of such loan, being a period of 36½ years (thirty-six and a half
years), or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution
duly passed at a regularly constituted meeting of the Huntly
Town Board held in the Board’s office, Huntly, on 24th May,
1917.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—STORMWATER
DRAINAGE LOAN, £50,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
any other Act enabling it in that behalf, the Gisborne Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £50,000, authorized to
be raised by the said Gisborne Borough Council, under the
above-mentioned Act, for stormwater drainage for the
Borough of Gisborne, the said Gisborne Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅛ths of a penny
in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable
property within the whole of the Borough of Gisborne, com-
prising the whole of Borough of Gisborne as described in
the New Zealand Gazette No. 48, of the 9th June, 1904, folio
1490.
