In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of the TE AROHA BACON COMPANY (LIMITED).
AT a meeting of the above-named company held at the registered office of the company in Whitaker Street, Te Aroha, on the 8th day of May, 1917, it was resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that GEORGE JAMES PARKER be and was thereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up; and that the Liquidator be and was thereby authorized to sell and transfer to SAMUEL CHARLES BARON and to JAMES FITZGERALD and WALTER EDWARD SMITH the freehold and leasehold properties, goodwill, and effects of the company, in terms set forth in the minutes of the said meeting as entered in the minute-book of the company on the 8th day of May, 1917.

WAIAPU COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waiapu County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the Waiapu County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the forming and metalling of the road between Port Awanui and Tikiliki, the said Waiapu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Awanui Riding of the County of Waiapu; and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution duly passed at a meeting of the Waiapu County Council held on the 28th day of May, 1917.

AN extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders in the Paterson’s Freehold Gold-mining Company (Limited) was held in the company’s registered office, 15 Stock Exchange Buildings, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 6th June, 1917, at 4 p.m., when the following resolution was confirmed:—
That the company having concluded the objects for which it was formed, and disposed of its remaining assets, be wound up voluntarily; and that ROBERT A. MATHEWSON, of Dunedin, be appointed Liquidator to conduct such winding-up. 368
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned JOHN COOPER, ISRAEL GELHOR, HENRY NEVEZIE, and HARRY ADLER, under the style or firm of “Cooper & Co.,” was on the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, dissolved by mutual consent.
All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be received and paid by the undersigned JOHN COOPER, HENRY NEVEZIE, and HARRY ADLER, by whom the business will in future be carried on.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Palmerston North propose, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling them in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, the taking and laying-out of the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a recreation-ground. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the Council of the said borough in the borough offices, the Square, Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the Borough Council of Palmerston North, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.
THE SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.
All that parcel of land, containing 15 acres and 5·7 perches, more or less, being Sections 237, 238, and 239 on the plan of the Township of Palmerston North. Bounded towards the north-east by a road, 1500·27 links; towards the south-east by Section 225, 1002·20 links; towards the south-west by Sections 226, 227, and 228 on the plan of the said township, 1500·27 links; and towards the north-west by Section 236 on the said plan, 1002·20 links: as the said parcel of land is delineated on the said plan deposited in the public office of the said Town Clerk as aforesaid, and therein coloured green in outline.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Dannevirke Racing Club at a meeting held on the eighth day of May, 1917, at Dannevirke, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. W. G. F. Frame, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. W. G. F. Frame, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. T. H. G. Lloyd seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
