Partial Revocation of an Order in Council under Section 296
of the Native Land Act, 1909.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day
of June, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section two hundred and ninety-six of
the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any
Order in Council made under Part XVI of that Act, or under
Part II of the Native Land Settlement Act, 1907, may be
at any time revoked, either wholly or as to any part or parts
of the land included therein, by the Governor by Order in
Council:
And whereas a parcel of land known as Pouawa 3D No. 3
became subject, by virtue of an Order in Council dated the
thirtieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and
nine, to the provisions of Part XVI of the Native Land Act,
1909:
And whereas the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board
has recommended that such land be no longer subject to
Part XVI aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the said Order in Council dated the thirtieth
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nine, in so
far as it affects Pouawa 3D No. 3.

Fixing Dues for the Use of Wharf at Port Fitzroy, Great
Barrier Island.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of
June, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-sixth
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 72, of the twenty-
ninth day of the same month, and issued under the provisions
of the Harbours Act, 1908, the Great Barrier Island County
Council was licensed to occupy a part of the foreshore at
Port Fitzroy, Great Barrier Island, as a site for a wharf:
And whereas the said County Council is desirous of charging
dues for the use of the said wharf:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power conferred
upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the dues set forth
in the Schedule hereto shall be taken by the Great Barrier
Island County Council for the use of the said wharf.
SCHEDULE.
Sheep, pig (or pigs), goats, dogs .. .. 1d. per head.
Poultry (in crates) .. .. 1d. per crate.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section four of the Fire Brigades Act,
1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is
provided that the Governor may by Order in Council, on
the application of any Borough Council, declare the district
within the jurisdiction of such Borough Council to be a fire
district under the said Act: And whereas an application
has been made by the Waihi Borough Council in accord-
ance with the provisions of the said Act, and it appears
expedient to grant the said application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the
Borough of Waihi to be a fire district under the said Act.

Approving the Fund of the Otago Patriotic and General Wel-
fare Association under the War Contributions Validation
Act, 1914 (No. 2).
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section two of the War Contributions
Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2), (hereinafter referred
to as “the said Act”), it is enacted as follows:—
Contributions, whether in money or kind, may be made
by any local authority or body of persons, whether corporate
or unincorporate, other than private trustees under a settle-
ment or will,—
(a.) For the relief of distress occasioned by the war in
which His Majesty is at present engaged, whether
such distress exists in New Zealand or elsewhere in
the British dominions, or in any country allied to
His Majesty;
(b.) For any patriotic objects approved for the purposes
of this Act by the Governor:
Provided that every such contribution is paid either—
(i.) Into a public fund established by the Government, or
by any local authority, for the purposes of such
relief of distress, or patriotic objects; or
(ii.) Into a fund established by persons other than the
Government or a local authority, where such fund
and the conditions of control and expenditure thereof
are approved for the purpose of this Act by the
Governor:
And whereas certain persons in the Provincial District of
Otago have formed themselves into an association known as
the Otago Patriotic and General Welfare Association, for the
following purposes, namely,—
To deal with all matters connected with the war, particu-
larly as affecting the needs of the Province of Otago and the
men enlisting in the Otago portion of the New Zealand
Expeditionary Force, and in particular—
(a.) To organize the collection of subscriptions, either in
money or in kind, for any purpose in connection
with the war;
(b.) To administer relief to or secure employment for any
person who as the result of the war is ascertained
to be in the circumstances of necessity;
(c.) To arrange for organization of demonstrations, services,
and meetings in connection with any matters per-
taining to the war;
(d.) To arrange for the supply and delivery of comforts,
equipment, or other articles to members of the
Expeditionary Force, or to any individual member;
(e.) To assist in the care of sick and wounded members of
any Expeditionary Force, or of any one engaged in
military or naval work during the war;
(f.) To assist returned or injured members of any military
or naval force;
(g.) To assist dependants of any soldier or sailor who may
be serving in any military or naval force, or who
may die or be killed as the result of such service;
(h.) To assist in hospital or hospital-ship equipment, to
provide medical or surgical relief, and generally to
aid the wounded men;
(i.) To assist recruiting;
(j.) To arrange for the farewell, reception, or other func-
tion to the members of the Expeditionary Force;
(k.) To arrange and expend money for the assistance of
any of the Allies or Great Britain;
(l.) To aid in the relief of any distress that may arise as
a consequence of the war, whether in Great Britain
or in any of her dependencies, and generally deal
with any matter arising out of or incidental to the
war:
And whereas the association has established a fund for the
promotion of the objects hereinbefore expressed, and has
submitted the said fund, and the conditions of control and
the expenditure thereof, for approval, as required in the
hereinbefore-quoted provisions of the said Act:
