Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law made by the Southland County Council on the 13th day of April, 1917, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Southland County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

Notifying Land in the Taranaki Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Tututawa Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from the 29th March, 1917.


SCHEDULE.

TUTUTAWA SETTLEMENT.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situated in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 729 acres 3 roods 20 perches, being Allotment 1 of part of Subdivision 11, Huiakama Block, and parts of Subdivision 12, Huiakama Block, of Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, bounded as follows: On the north by part of Subdivision 10, Huiakama Block, of Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, 11021·9 links; on the east by Section 1 of Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, Subdivision 12 of Mangaehu Suburban Section, Section 2 of Mangaehu Village, and part of Mangaotuku Road, 12115 links; on the south-west generally by the Mangaotuku Road, 2557·4 links, by the Mangaotuku Stream, and again by the Mangaotuku Road, 8907·1 links; again towards the north by part Subdivision 11 of the Huiakama Block, Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, 1611·5 links; on the west by the Mangaotuku Stream, and again towards the west by the railway reserve, 187·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages and areas a little more or less, shown as edged in green.

Saving and excepting an area of 1 acre 0 roods 30 perches, being a railway reserve 200 links wide running through the block, and being bounded on the north by the Mangaotuku Stream; on the east by Allotment 1, part of Subdivision 11, Huiakama Block, Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, 570 links; on the south by the Mangaotuku Stream; on the west by Allotment 1, part of Subdivision 11, Huiakama Block, Block XIV, Ngatimaru Survey District, 620 links: be all the aforesaid linkages and areas a little more or less, coloured pink.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/50, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged with green.

Notifying Land in the Canterbury Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Lees Valley Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from the 28th February, 1915.


SCHEDULE.

LEES VALLEY SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 26,984 acres, more or less, situated in Upper Ashley and Mount Thomas Survey Districts, and being Sections 23909 to 23912, 24531, 25544 to 25548, 25559, 25854, 25963, 26054, 31408, 33168, and 33637, and parts Pastoral Runs 145 and 145A, and portion of the Crown land formerly part of Reserves 3114 and 3115. Commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 24531, and bounded towards the east generally by Section 37048, a public road, again by Section 37048, and by part Section 8, Lees Valley Block; towards the south-east generally by a public road, by Reserves 3114 and 3115, again by a public road, and Reserve 3115 to the Ashley River; thence towards the west generally by that river and the Whistler River; thence towards the north-west by other part of Run 145A to the Ashley River; thence across that river; thence towards the west by the Ashley River and by other part of Run 145; thence towards the north by other part of Run 145, by Reserve 3269, and again by other part of Run 145 to the southernmost corner of Section 24531; thence towards the west by other part of Run 145 to the northernmost corner of Section 24531 aforesaid, the point of commencement: excluding from the above-described area part Section 8, Lees Valley Block, containing 95 acres, part Section 25559 containing 10 acres, and the Ashley River.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Section 5145, Block VII, Upper Ashley Survey District. Bounded towards the north, south, east, and west by Run 145A, 817 links, 2451 links, 817 links, and 2451 links respectively.

As the above-described areas are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. No. 8/8/17, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
