Special Order made by the Awatere County Council altering Boundaries of Ridings and adjusting Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Awatere County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

AWATERE COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Special Order adjusting Representation and altering Boundaries of Ridings.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Awatere County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:—
- The present division of the County of Awatere into three ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into four ridings, to be called respectively the Flaxbourne Riding, East Coast Riding, Lower Awatere Riding, and Upper Awatere Riding, which said riding boundaries are described as hereunder,—
Flaxbourne Riding.
Commencing on the north shore of Lake Grassmere at the south-eastern corner of Section 28, Block XII, Clifford Bay Survey District, and bounded towards the north-east and south-east by the ocean to the middle of the Ure River; thence towards the south by the middle of that river and the crossing of same to the south-western corner of Small Grazing-run No. 182; thence towards the west by the western boundary of that run and Small Grazing-run Nos. 181 and 166 to the Flaxbourne River; thence by that river to Small Grazing-run No. 165; thence by the western and northern boundaries of the last-mentioned run to the south-western corner of Small Grazing-run No. 169; thence by the western boundaries of that run and Sections 3, 11, and 1, Block II, Cape Campbell Survey District, to the main North Road; thence by that road to a creek forming the north-western boundary of Section No. 16, Block II, Cape Campbell Survey District; thence by that creek to Lake Grassmere, and by the western and northern shores of the said lake to the point of commencement.
East Coast Riding.
Commencing at a point in the middle of the Clarence River due south of the confluence of the Elliott Stream with that river, and bounded thence towards the west generally by a right line to and by the said stream to the south-eastern watershed of the Awatere River; thence by that watershed to the Medway Saddle; thence by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Small Grazing-run No. 193 to the south-western corner of Section 2, Block II, Whernside Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of that section and Sections 1 and 3, Block III, Whernside Survey District, to the middle of the Ure River; thence towards the north generally by the middle of the said river to the ocean; thence towards the south-east by the ocean to the point of commencement.
Lower Awatere Riding.
Bounded towards the north-west, north, and east by the north-western, northern, and eastern boundaries of the County of Awatere as described in the First Schedule of the Awatere County Act, 1911, from a point on the southern bank of the Awatere River in line with the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 30, Clifford Bay Survey District, to the Flaxbourne Riding as hereinbefore described; thence towards the south-east generally by that riding and the East Coast Riding as hereinbefore described to the north-east corner of Section No. 3, Block III, Whernside Survey District; thence towards the west generally by the Ure River, by a tributary of the same to its source, by a right line to Blue Mountain, by a right line to and by a tributary of the Medway River boundary, Sections Nos. 74, 73, and 72, Block XIII, Blue Mountain Survey District, and following another tributary of the same river to its source near Monument Hill, and by a right line to that hill; thence by a right line to the source of the Flaxbourne River, and by that river to a tributary of same at the southern boundary of Section No. 62, Block VII, Blue Mountain Survey District, by that tributary to its source, by a right line to the source of Upton Brook, and by the said Upton Brook to the Awatere River; and thence again to the north-west by that river to the place of commencement.
Upper Awatere Riding.
Bounded towards the north-west generally by the north-western boundary of the Awatere County as described in the First Schedule of the Awatere County Act, 1911, from the confluence of the Acheron River with the River Clarence to the Lower Awatere Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the south-east generally by that riding and the East Coast Riding hereinbefore described to the south-eastern boundary of the said Awatere County; and thence again towards the south-east and towards the south by the south-eastern and southern boundaries of the Awatere County aforesaid to the place of commencement.

The said Awatere County Council shall consist of seven members, who shall be elected as follows: The electors of the Flaxbourne Riding, the Lower Awatere Riding, and the Upper Awatere Riding shall elect two Councillors; and the electors of the East Coast Riding shall elect one Councillor.

The alterations hereby made in the number of the members of the said Council shall take effect at the general election of Councillors to be held in the month of November, 1917, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing such election.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Awatere was hereunto affixed this 10th day of May, 1916, by order of the Council of the said county, by and in the presence of—

Special Order made by the Raglan County Council altering Boundaries of Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Raglan County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order altering Boundaries of Port Waikato and Onewhero Ridings, and fixing Representation of such Ridings on the Council of the County of Raglan.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Counties Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers whatsoever it in this behalf enabling, and with the approval of the Chief Surveyor of the district as provided for by the Counties Amendment Act, 1915, and subject to the consent of the Governor in Council, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That the present boundaries of the Port Waikato and Onewhero Ridings of the said county be altered by the deletion of certain sections from the Onewhero Riding, and the addition of such sections to the Port Waikato Riding, such alteration to take effect from the 3rd day of October, 1917, with the representation of one Councillor for the Onewhero Riding and one Councillor for the Port Waikato Riding on the Council of the County of Raglan.
The boundaries of the aforementioned ridings shall be as follows from the 3rd day of October, 1917.
Port Waikato Riding.
Bounded, commencing at the left bank of the Waikato River at the northernmost corner of Allotment 69, Onewhero Parish; towards the south-east generally by that allotment and Allotment 170 of the same parish, a public road forming the southern boundaries of Allotments 171 and 172, by Allotments N.W. 173, N.E. 13, 51, again by the aforesaid Allotment N.E. 13, the crossing of a road, by Allotments 11, 10, 9, 8, and 14, the crossing of a road, by Allotments 5 and 3, all the aforesaid allotments being of Onewhero Parish; by Opuatia Nos. 11c No. 5, 11c No. 7, 6B, 6D No. 5, and 6C No. 1 Blocks, by Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block X, Onewhero Survey District, and Sections 7 and 6, Block IX of the aforesaid Onewhero Survey District; towards the north-east generally by Section 6 aforesaid, across and by a road forming the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section, by Section 10, Block IX aforesaid, Section 1, Block XIV, Onewhero Survey District aforesaid, by a public road forming the south-western boundary of Section 6, Block XIII, Onewhero Survey District aforesaid, by Section 5 of the last-mentioned block, Allotments 103, 106, 109, 114, and 119A, Whangape Parish, the crossing of a road, by Allotment 119, Whangape
