Vesting Exclusive Care and Control and Management of
Drains in the Wairoa Road Board.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Council of the County of Manukau has
by special order vested the control of certain drains
in the Wairoa Road District in the Board of that road
district :
And whereas that Road Board has made application for
the issue of a Proclamation under section sixty-four of the
Land Drainage Act, 1908, vesting the control of all such
drains in the Board :
And whereas it is expedient to issue the Proclamation as
requested :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested
in me by section sixty-four of the Land Drainage Act, 1908,
do hereby proclaim and direct that any drains or drainage-
works already constructed, or which may hereafter be con-
structed, within the Wairoa Road District, in the County of
Manukau, shall from and after the first day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and seventeen, be under the exclusive
care, control, and management of the Wairoa Road Board.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House at Wellington, this fourteenth day of
May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section sixty-three of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, it is, amongst other things,
enacted that in no case shall any moneys be expended
under the provisions of the said section sixty-three in con-
nection with any block of land, unless that block is set
apart for selection under that section pursuant to Procla-
mation in that behalf :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the pur-
poses of the aforesaid Act, I, Arthur William de Brito
Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the
Schedule hereto as set apart for selection.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
Hawkdun Block (National Endowment).
Runs 582 to 586 (inclusive), Maniototo County: Area,
56,790 acres.
As the same is delineated upon the plan marked L. and S.
5/94, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
