POINT STEPHENS LIGHT.—CORRECTION TO ADMIRALTY PUBLICATIONS.
Position.—Lat. 32° 45½' S., long. 152° 12½' E. New Abridged Description.—Lt. alt. rev. W.R. ev. min., 126 ft., vis. 14 and 8 m.
Alteration.—The light is incorrectly described in Admiralty publications as an alternating flashing white and red light; it is an alternating revolving white and red light every minute— thus, red light 50 secs., eclipse 10 secs.; white light 50 secs., eclipse 10 secs.
The publications are to be amended accordingly.
Publications.—List of Lights, Part VI, 1917, No. 2566 ; Australia Directory, Vol. II, 1907, page 92 ; Revised Supplement, 1913.

VICTORIA.
PORTSEA GAS-BUOY.—SOUTH CHANNEL.—PORT PHILLIP.
Mariners are hereby notified that a shoal carrying 26 ft. to 27 ft. low water has formed about a cable south-westward of the gas-buoy opposite Portsea, at the western end of the South Channel. Mariners are therefore advised that the gas-buoy will be shifted to mark the south-western end of the shoal as soon as possible; but mariners in charge of vessels over 24 ft. draught are advised in the meantime to keep about 2 cables off to the south-westward when rounding such buoy.

POINT RICHARDS BUOY.—PORT OF GEELONG.
Notice is hereby given that on or about the 27th March, 1917, this buoy will be temporarily removed for overhaul, and during such time will be replaced by a barge with a structure thereon painted black, and from which, at 20 ft. above sea-level, a single red flashing light will be exhibited.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
GULF ST. VINCENT.—OYSTER BAY SPIT BEACON.
Masters of vessels and others are hereby informed that the beacon on the north end of the South Spit, which had disappeared, has been replaced temporarily with a black buoy. This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2152 and 2389.

PORT ADELAIDE HARBOUR.
Masters of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby warned that a high-tension electric submarine cable is now laid across the stream between Ocean Steamers and Birkenhead Wharves, and that great care must be taken so as not to drop anchors, &c., in its vicinity.
In the daytime a pole 50 ft. high, with a white diamond head, erected at the back of Ocean Steamers Wharf, brought into line with a white mark 12 ft. high by 1¼ ft. wide on the power-station chimney, indicates the direction of the cable.
On and after 1st April a red light will be exhibited at night-time from each of the above marks, one higher than the other.
This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 1750, 1752, 2389.

Notice to Mariners.—No. 39 of 1917.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—BEACON OFF BROWN'S ISLAND.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 5th May, 1917.
THE Auckland Harbour Board has notified that the beacon on the reef off Brown's Island (Motukoreho) has been knocked down by some vessel, and will be re-erected as soon as possible.
Charts, &c., affected.—Admiralty Chart No. 1896 ; "New Zealand Pilot," eighth edition, 1908, Chapter ii, page 43.
