THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Palmerston North, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF PALMERSTON NORTH.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Palmerston North was taken on the 28th day of March, 1917, on the proposal of the Palmerston North Borough Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purpose of purchasing sections in North Street for a public park and constructing a road at the Esplanade.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 564, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 254.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Palmerston North was taken on the 28th day of March, 1917, on the proposal of the Palmerston North Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of installing a coagulating plant at the Tiritea Waterworks.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 638, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 186.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chairman, not later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the 22nd May, 1917, for the supply and delivery at Tauranga, Whangarei, Mangapai or Opua, and Blenheim, of cement, lime, drainpipes, bricks, &c., for the year ending 30th June, 1918.
Forms and conditions of tender may be obtained at the offices of the Public Works Department, Tauranga, Whangarei, Auckland, and Blenheim, or at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chairman, not later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the 22nd May, 1917, for the supply and delivery at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Gisborne, Wanganui, Napier, Stratford, New Plymouth, Nelson, Greymouth, and Invercargill of bricks, cement, lime, disinfectants, drainpipes, ironmongery, oils, spirits, and other stores required by the New Zealand Government, for the period ending 30th June, 1918.
Forms and conditions of tender for all places except New Plymouth and Wellington may be obtained at the local offices of the Public Works Department. At New Plymouth the forms may be obtained at the Chief Post-office, and at Wellington at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Post and Telegraph Stores.
