The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) James Joseph Butler lapses. Dated 19th April, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE (TERRITORIAL).

2nd Lieutenant William Robert Bamford, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment, with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 1st April, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 139, of 14th December, 1916). Lieutenant-Colonel James Malcolm Mason, M.D., L.R.C.P. Edin., L.R.C.S. Edin., L.F.P.S. Glasg., is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 31st March, 1917.

Captain Ernest Augustus Boxer is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst in command of No. 8 Field Ambulance. Dated 19th April, 1917.
