HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of constructing a bridge over the Makahika Stream, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sevenths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Makahika Stream Special-rating District, comprising Sections part Horowhenua 3e No. 4, VI and VII, Waiopehu S.D.; 4 and 5, Horowhenua 3d, II and III, Waiopehu S.D.; Horowhenua 3c No. 4, III, Waiopehu S.D.; Section 9, III, Waiopehu S.D.; part Sec. 4 and 5, IV, Waiopehu S.D.; Horowhenua Subdivision 4, III and VII, Waiopehu S.D. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on the 10th day of March, 1917.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between the undersigned, who have lately been carrying on business as Solicitors under the firm-name of “Barton & Smart,” has been dissolved by mutual consent from this date. The business will be carried on by ELLIOTT L’ESTRANGE BARTON, who will discharge all debts of the firm, and who will give a discharge for all debts receivable by the firm.

TE PUKE GOLD REEFS (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of shareholders in the above-named company held on Wednesday, the twenty-first day of March, 1917, the following extraordinary resolution was passed, viz.:—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at a subsequent meeting held on the fifth day of April, 1917, the said extraordinary resolution was duly confirmed as a special resolution, and Messrs. E. R. N. RUSSELL and THOMAS PEACOCK were appointed Liquidators.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at Ngaruawahia, in the Provincial District of Auckland, New Zealand, on the fourth day of April, 1917, the following extraordinary resolutions were duly passed:—

  1. That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the same be wound up accordingly.

  2. That Mr. A. E. WARNOCK, of Auckland, Public Accountant, and Mr. W. H. HAMBLIN, of Auckland, Retired Merchant, be appointed Liquidators for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company.
