Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points:
Commencing below the main road from Miller’s Flat to
Roxburgh on the west side of the Molyneux River at the
creek running through the pre-emptive right on Run 369,
Application No. 5377, south-eastern district of Otago, where
such creek enters the lower part of such pre-emptive right
(being freehold land owned and occupied by the applicant),
and terminating in such pre-emptive right. Pegs marked X.
Length and intended course of race: 30 chains; east.
Points of intake: One.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Three days;
£1 10s.
Mean depth and breadth: 6 in. by 9 in.
Number of heads to be diverted: One.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

WAIR0A COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE, LOAN OF £500, MAHIA—
TABLE CAPE ROAD.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the
Wairoa County Council, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and metalling the
Mahia—Table Cape Road from Kaiuku towards Table Cape,
the said Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one-twentieth of a penny (1/20d.) in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of
the Mahia—Table Cape Special-rating District, comprising
the whole of the lands on the Mahia Peninsula south of Kai-
witau Native Block, excluding the Mahia Township and
including Portland Island; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.
I, George Canning Ormond, Chairman of the Wairoa
County Council, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly submitted to and passed at a meeting of the said
Council held on Friday, the 9th day of March, 1917.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, JOHN RUSSELL WELLS, M.B., Ch.B., N.Z., now
residing in Awapuni Camp, hereby give notice that
I intend applying on the 5th May, 1917, next to have my
name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New
Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my
qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and
Deaths at Wellington.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of one hundred pounds, authorized to be
raised by the Franklin County Council, under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of formation and metalling
of Jamieson’s Road, Buckland, the said Franklin County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-
eighths of a penny (¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value
of all rateable property of the Jamieson’s Road (Buckland)
Special-rating Area, comprising the following sections of
the Parish of Pukekohe: Part Section 37, 22 acres 3 roods
26 perches; part Section 36, 82 acres; part Section 36, 48
acres 2 roods; part Section 36, 119 acres 2 roods 14 perches;
part Section 37, 3 acres 2 roods; and part Section 37, 80
acres; the said sections being portion of the Pukekohe
Riding of Franklin County, and situate in Blocks XV and
XVI of the Drury Survey District. And that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution passed at the ordinary monthly meeting of
the Franklin County Council held on the 1st day of March,
1917.
