COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL RESOLUTION MADE ON 16TH DAY OF MARCH, 1917.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Cook
County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Cook
County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for construct-
ing one and half miles of Puninga Road, the said Cook County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths
of a penny in the £1 upon the rateable value of all rateable
property of the Puninga Special-rating District, comprising
Sections 8, 9, 10, 7, Puninga Block ; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in
each and every year during a period equal to the currency of
such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or
until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be four
pounds ten shillings per cent.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Cook was hereto affixed in the
presence of—

I, PERCY HENRY UPTON, Manager of the Guardian,
Trust, and Executors Company of New Zealand
(Limited), do solemnly and sincerely declare—
- That the liability of the members is limited.
- That the capital of the company is £100,000, divided
into 20,000 shares of £5 each. - That the number of shares issued is 20,000.
- That calls to the amount of three pounds (£3) per share
on 2,500 shares, and three shillings (3s.) per share on 17,500
shares, have been made, under which the sum of £10,125 has
been received. - That the amount of all moneys received on account of
estates on the 1st day of January last is £118,044 3s. - That the amount of all moneys paid on account of
estates on that day is £116,447 12s. 6d. - That the amount of the balance held to the credit of
estates under administration on that day is £1,596 10s. 6d. - That the liabilities of the company as on the 1st day of
January last were nil. - That the contingent liabilities of the company on de-
posits on the 1st day of January last were nil. - That the assets of the company on that day were
£14,503 3s. 8d. - That the first annual license was issued on the 10th
day of March, 1911.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believ-
ing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of
an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the
Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

WAITOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £5,000.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Waitoa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the
Waitoa Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for
the purpose of improving present watercourses and drains
and constructing new watercourses and drains in the Tatua-
nui No. 2 Special-rating District of the said Waitoa Drainage
District, the Waitoa Drainage Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate, on a graduated scale according to the classi-
fication list of the lands within the said Tatuanui No. 2
Special-rating District, of one and five-eighths of one penny
in the pound on the rateable value of all lands in Class “A,”
one and nine-sixteenths of one penny in the pound on the
rateable value of all lands in Class “B,” and one and one-half-
penny in the pound on the rateable value of all lands in Class
“C,” all of which classes and the lands therein, together with
their rateable values as appearing on the valuation roll of the
district, are set out in the classification list of the Tatuanui
No. 2 Special-rating District. Such special rates shall be
annually recurring rates during the currency of the said loan,
and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the
first day of July in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.
Boundaries of the Special-rating District.
All that area in the Waitoa Drainage District bounded by
a line commencing at a point on the Piako River where the
No. 5 Line of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision intersects the
said river ; thence following such line to the No. 8 Road,
which along on its eastern side to the north-west corner of
Lot 3 of the subdivision of Section 67 of the Waitoa Estate
Subdivision ; thence following along the northern boundary
of the said Lot 3 to its north-east corner ; thence along the
eastern boundary-line of Lots 3 and 4, and the eastern
boundary of Buchanan’s and Caton’s sections to the southern
boundary-line of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision ; thence
following such line to the railway-line on its south-eastern
side, and along same to the Waitoa River (the eastern bound-
ary-line of the Waitoa Drainage District) ; then following
the said boundary of the Waitoa Drainage District in a
southerly direction ; thence south-westerly, thence westerly
and northerly, and again westerly to the Piako River, which
along to the No. 5 Line of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision,
the point of commencement.
