Declaring Land to be no longer subject to Part XIV of the Native Land Act, 1909.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this second day of April, 1917.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. H. HERRIES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section ninety-six of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time by Order in Council declare that any land subject to Part XIV or XV of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and vested in a Maori Land Board, shall no longer be subject to such Parts of that Act, and shall be revested in the Native owners thereof:
And whereas the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is at present subject to Part XIV of the said Act, and is vested in the Tokerau District Maori Land Board, which Board has recommended that such land be no longer subject as aforesaid and that it be revested in the Native owners:
And whereas the Governor is satisfied that the said land is not subject to any lease, license, contract for sale, or other alienation, and that no moneys are charged on the said land or on the revenue thereof in accordance with the said Act or under any other authority:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section ninety-six of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall no longer be subject to Part XIV of the Native Land Act, 1909, and shall be revested in the Native owners thereof.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land, containing 81 acres 1 rood, more or less, and known as Pipiwai No. 2c Block, situate in the Mangakahia Survey District, in the Land District of Auckland.

Postage Rates for Parcels for Soldiers.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this second day of April, 1917.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. H. HERRIES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and of all powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the regulations and fix the rates and charges given in the Schedule hereto for the posting of parcels addressed to soldiers, and doth order and declare that any regulations and charges of similar purport heretofore made are hereby revoked in so far as they are not in agreement with the regulations and charges made in the said Schedule, but that otherwise any such other regulations and charges shall remain in full force and virtue, and shall be read and applied together with the regulations and charges hereby made and fixed; and doth further order and declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the sixteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

PARCEL-POST.
Special Rates for Parcels addressed to Soldiers.
- THE rates of postage for parcels addressed to soldiers and nurses of British, New Zealand, Australian, or other colonial or allied troops on active service in any part of the world (including members of New Zealand Volunteer Sisterhood) are—

For parcels not exceeding 3 lb. . . . . 1 0
" 7 lb. . . . . 2 0
These rates also apply to parcels addressed to New Zealand sailors on board the “Philomel” and any other of H.M. ships manned by New Zealand crews.
The maximum weight for parcels under the regulation is 7 lb.
- Parcels for soldiers, sailors, &c., on active service cannot be registered or insured.
