In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the
matter of the SOUTHLAND CO-OPERATIVE BREAD COM-
PANY (LIMITED), an incorporated company having its
registered office situated in Tay Street, Invercargill.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a general meeting of
the above-named company duly convened and held
in Allen's Hall, Kelvin Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday,
the 20th day of March, 1917, the following extraordinary
resolution was duly passed:

"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the com-
pany that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its
business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and
that the same be wound up accordingly."

At the same meeting Mr. JAMES HUNTER, of Invercargill,
Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of
such winding-up.

COUNTY OF MANIOTOTO.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Maniototo County
Council, on behalf of the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the Maniototo County, proposes to take, under
the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, the land described
in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a certain public
work—to wit, a public road.

And further notice is hereby given that a survey has been
made and a plan is prepared showing the land required to be
taken, together with the name of the owner and occupier of
such land, and the said plan is deposited in the office of the
said Maniototo County Council at Naseby, and is open for
inspection by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such
works or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to
the said Maniototo County Council, addressed to the County
Clerk at the office of the said Council situate as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the Maniototo Survey Dis-
trict, containing one (1) acre two (2) roods and fifteen and
six-tenths (15·6) poles (more or less), being part of Section
One (1), Block Six (VI), on the public map of the said district;
as the said piece of land is more particularly delineated on
the plan deposited in the office of the Maniototo County
Council and therein coloured green.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately
subsisting between us, the undersigned, WILLIAM
PANNETT NICOLL and WILLIAM HAROLD ROWE, carrying on
business as Seedsman at New Plymouth, under the style or
firm of "Wm. Rowe," has this day been dissolved by mutual
consent. All debts due to or owing by the said late firm
will be received and paid by the said WILLIAM PANNETT
NICOLL, who will continue the said business under the style
of "W. P. Nicoll & Co."

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between WILLIAM HENRY EDWARDS and
WILLIAM HAROLD EDWARDS, carrying on business as Builders
and Contractors at Woodward Street, Wellington, under the
style or firm of "W. H. Edwards & Son," has been dissolved
as from the 31st day of March, 1917. All debts due to and
owing by the said late firm will be received and paid re-
spectively by the said WILLIAM HENRY EDWARDS, who will
continue to carry on the said business on his own behalf.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £470, authorized to be raised by the
Stratford County Council, under the above-mentioned Act,
for forming and metalling a part of the Barclay Road and
bridging the Konini Stream, the said Stratford County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny
and three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rate-
able value of all rateable property of the North Barclay
Road £470 Loan Special-rating District, comprising Sec-
tions 10, 11, 16, 50, 51, and part 15 (67 acres 1 rood
7 perches), of Block IV, Kaupokonui Survey District; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of February in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

I, Charles Penn, of Stratford, Clerk to the Stratford County
Council, hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a
resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the
Council held on Wednesday, the 28th day of March, 1917.

PALMERSTON NORTH GAS COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of
the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of
the members of the above-named company will be held at
the Chamber of Commerce, Wellington, on Friday, the 27th
April, 1917, at 3.30 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose
of having all accounts laid before the company showing the
manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the
property of the company disposed of, and for the purpose
of hearing any explanations that may be given by the
Liquidators.
