Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open
for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary
office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution
of the said public work or the taking of such lands should,
if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of
the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set
forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wel-
lington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his
said office.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land, containing six perches and thirty-
eight hundredths of a perch, be the same a little more or
less, being part of Lot 23, deposited plan 1109, and part of
Section 7, Evans Bay Registration District, coloured red on
the said plan, situated in the City of Wellington, in the Land
District of Wellington; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan above mentioned.

M ASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,
the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and any Acts amending
the same respectively, and all other Acts, powers, or autho-
rities (if any) vested in it or in anywise enabling it in that
behalf, the Council of the Masterton Borough doth hereby
resolve as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking
fund on a loan of nine thousand pounds (£9,000), authorized
to be raised by special order passed on the 20th day of Febru-
ary, 1917, and confirmed on the 20th day of March, 1917,
for the purpose of repaying the balance of the Masterton
Borough Gasworks Loans Repayment Loan, 1907, the Council
of the Borough of Masterton hereby makes and levies a
special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the pound sterling
upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value)
of all rateable property in the Borough of Masterton ; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the first day of February and the first day of August in each
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten
years, or such shorter period as may be determined by the
Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that this resolution is a correct extract
from minutes of the proceedings of the Council of the Borough
of Masterton of the 20th day of March, 1917, after confirma-
tion of the special order to borrow the sum of nine thousand
pounds (£9,000).

MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.-OMAHINE - TE POI
ROAD LOAN.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of two thousand five hundred pounds
(£2,500), authorized to be raised by the Matamata County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for road-metalling
improvements, the said Matamata County Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one penny three-eighths
in the pound (1½d. in the £) upon the rateable value of all
rateable property in the Omahine - Te Poi Road Loan Special
Area, which comprises all that area of the Patetere Riding
in the Matamata County commencing at Te Weraiti Trig. on
the county boundary and at the north-eastern corner of the
Patetere Riding, thence following the riding boundary in a
westerly direction to the western corner of Section 4087,
where the said section joins Section 4313 1B; thence along
the eastern boundary of said Section 4313 1B and Section
4313 1A to the western junction of Sections 52 and 51, Block
XI, Tapapa; thence in a south-easterly direction through
Section 51 in the area to the road; thence along the southern
boundaries of Lot 1, Section 63, and Section 58, Block XI,
Tapapa; thence in a north-easterly direction along said
Section 58 and Section 59 to the Kaimai Road; thence
following the western boundary of the Government Scenic
Reserve to the north-east corner of Section 7, Okauia No. 1B,
to the county boundary; thence in a north-westerly direc-
tion to Te Weraiti Trig., the commencing point. And that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first
day of August in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
passed at a meeting of the Matamata County Council held
on the 21st day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
seventeen.

ON and after Monday, 2nd April, the business of the
Northern Assurance Company (Limited) will be carried
on at their new offices, Hobson Buildings, Fort Street, Auck-
land.
In the matter of the WATCHMAN GOLD-MINING COMPANY
(LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above company duly convened and
held at the office of the company on the 28th day of February,
1917, the following special resolution was duly passed, and
at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the mem-
bbers of the said company also duly convened and held at the
same place on the 21st day of March, 1917, the said following
resolution was duly confirmed :
" That the company be wound up voluntarily under the
provisions of the Companies Act, 1908."
At the last-named meeting Messrs. EDWARD ANDERSON,
Wool-merchant, and JOHN WILLIAM NICHOL, Company Sec-
retary, both of Auckland, and JAMES KERNICK, Sharebroker,
of Thames, were appointed Liquidators for the purposes of
the winding-up.

1917, next to have my name placed on the Medical Register
for the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited
the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar
of Births and Deaths at Christchurch.

been dissolved by effluxion of time and mutual consent as
